La Herradura is a small town that rises over a bay. 40min to Málaga and its airport. 1h to Granada and airport. A perfect place to enjoy the beach, nautical sports, sailing, tennis and golf. With typical restaurants with Mediterranean food. it has all basic services such as nursery, supermarkets, restaurants, bus, pubs, live concerts, diving etc.

“Outstanding location and views. A perfect place to relax.”

What a wonderful location. The photos on homelidays are correct. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The Villa is in a gated community with key entry so it is safe and secure with no through traffic. The Villa consists of three floors with one bedroom on the lower floor with ensuite, and two on the ground floor with a fourth in a loft. The design is a little quirky but you get used to it. Both bathrooms are on the lower floor (none on the ground floor) and the kitchen is quite small (it is very difficult to get into the pantry). Water pressure and heat are very good. Internet coverage is good. There is a large tv with some channels broadcasting in english as well as spanish. There is a shared pool (which was too cold to use in the winter of course) and steps down to a private (shared) platform on the Sea where a kayak was available for use if requried. In summer this would be wonderful. We had to use a saucepan to boil water for tea as there was no kettle. There was no vacuum cleaner so we had to use a broom. There is quite a lot of knick knacks and trinkets in this Villa that could easily get broken so you need to be careful if you have small children (we didn't). It may be better if some of this were removed when the Villa is rented out. There was a smell coming from the drains in the Ensuite and the Ensuite toilet took about three flushes to work each time. I recommend these issues be resolved quickly. La Herradura is a lovely community to explore. We did day trips to Frigiliana (highly recommended), Nerja (also highly recommended) and Malaga (about 40 minutes away). These locations are within easy reach. We were only the fourth guests in the Villa and the owners are still learning how to manage the rental of their property. We would definitely stay again and will recommend this Villa to others.
