La Detourbe is a converted Normandy longere, or longhouse. It is situated in 2 acres of garden at the edge of the Normandy Maine Regional Park. .The unspoilt area is rural and very picturesque, with several towns within easy reach, notably Bagnoles-de-Orne which is a beautiful spa town just a 10 minute drive away. You also have the landing beaches appproximately 1 hour away, the very popular Le Mont St. Michel just a little futher away and the famous Bayeaux Tapestry at Bayeaux around 45 minutes drive.The rental property is a barn conversion, with the owners living next door in the original farm house. In the conversion there are two fully self-contained, centrally heated gites, ideal for all age groups and families, suitable for use throughout the year. Gite 1 shown here has one en-suite bedroom and the large gite ( Gite 2 - see other property ) has three en-suite bedrooms.
