Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

La Gomera is probably the most diverse island in the Canaries. It is a magical place where the beauty of the unspoiled landscape is complemented by peaceful and friendly inhabitants and visitors.

Few locations can claim to surpass the magnificence of this island with its gorges; enchanting woods cloaked in a veil of cloud and dramatic lava peaks. Picturesque towns and villages adorn the mountains and valleys with unique fauna and flora all combine to cast a spell upon visitors.

Its beaches are also unspoile and offers a relaxing day in which to charge the batteries before going hill walking and climbing or golfing.

There are many boat trips available to view Dolphins and Whales, it is quite unusual not to get and excellent show from a family of dolphins or pilot whales.

For more details visit my website via the link at the bottom of the page.

La Calera

There are many places to visit according to the time of year and your interests. I have lisited a few below.

There are many fiestas in La Gomera and they should not be missed if you can arrange your dates to coincide. The local ones are : Los Reyes 6th January, San Antonio 13th June, San Juan 24th June and San Pedro 29th June, Nuestra Senora del Carmen 16th July, Santiago(St.James) 25th July. There is however nearly one fiesta every weekend in a village or town on the island so you wont miss one whatever time you come to visit.
Carnival is usually 3rd week in February.

There is a subtropical rain forest of 3,984 hectares covering the mountainous center - The Parque National de Garajonay is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Some restaurants provide local entertainment and music. The Cultural Center also provides performances of local singing & dancing and arts & crafts. There is a market every Sunday selling local produce.

There is a folder full of information regarding places to visit and events in the house especially for our guests.

“Lovely!”

Reviewed 10 May 2015

We stayed here for 9 nights for our honeymoon and it was just what we were after. It was close enough to the local beaches and restaurants to walk down (about 15 minutes), and within easy driving distance of the national park too so it was a good location for a holiday that included a bit of relaxation and some walking. The apartment was probably better equipped than our house and was much more homely than staying in a hotel. It had a couple of restaurants practically on its doorstep (neither of which we tried) and a well stocked supermarket pretty much next door. It might not be ideal for people who have difficulty walking as you have to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up a lot of steps to get there, but from what I can tell most people who go to La Gomera are there to walk and are pretty fit anyway and this wasn't a problem for us. We'd happily stay again!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your positive review. I'm glad you had a great honeymoon. We may see you on your anniversary :) Kind regards Viv

“Lovely Canarian house in old town”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

Have just returned from 8 lovely nights spent at Casa Bibi. Very spacious house with everything we needed provided by the owner. We particularly enjoyed the roof terrace - a great place to relax after a mornings hiking. Would be very happy to stay again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your positive review. I am glad you had a nice holiday, maybe we will see you again. Regards Viv

“Had a great time in a wonderful apartment”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2014

The owner was friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a quiet location and was beautifully and comfortably furnished, which was a pleasant change from many Spanish apartments I have stayed in. It had all the facilities you could want including many DVD's and books. A little shop and a couple of restaurants were nearby. The sea and mountain views from the roof garden were superb. The restaurants and shops in La Playa were excellent and provided a range of quality and price. All in all the holiday was a great escape from my busy life, a perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries. I can definitely recommend Casa Bib it is in an excellent location for a burst of winter sunshine.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your positive review. We have worked hard to provide our guests with comfortable, attractive accommodation in this beautiful valley. Regards Viv
