Coral Reef Holiday Rental has three bedrooms: one master suite with a queen-size bed (double), one guest room with two queen-size bunk beds, and a daybed on the terrace that sleeps two. The terrace converts into a fully-enclosed room with air conditioning, blackout curtains, and a foldaway glass covering. The master bathroom includes a double sink, a bathtub, and a shower. The shared bathroom has a mosaic tile shower and Italian marble counter tops and walls.
La Cala de Mijas is a growing destination spot, so be sure to book before it's too late!

Your holiday rental apartment is located on the 1st floor, above the garden apartment, or what is referred to as the 2nd floor in Northern Europe and the US. The 35 square meter balcony/terrace has a large section enclosed with a glass wall, that can easily be slid to one side, to open the entire area up to the sun. For the winter evenings, the glass can be put in place, and the terrace be fully enjoyed, with heaters, if necessary.
The private hot tub is located on the terrace, out of view from the rest of the units, for a more private experience.

The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol ("Sun Coast" or, more literally, "Coast of the Sun") is a region in the south of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is comprised of the coastal towns and communities along the Mediterranean coastline of the Málaga province. With approximately 340 days of sun a year, it is no wonder the region got its name. The Costa del Sol is situated between two lesser known costas: Costa de la Luz and Costa Tropical. Formerly made up only of a series of small, quiet fishing settlements, the region has been transformed during the latter part of the 20th century, into a tourist destination of world renown.
Historically its population lived in the fishing villages, and in the "white" villages a little distance inland, in the mountains running down to the coast. The area was discovered and developed to meet the demands of international tourism in the 1950s and has since been a popular destination for foreign tourists not only for its beaches but also for its local culture. The area is particularly famous for its towns like Marbella, which provides the Costa del Sol with its reputation for being a playground for its super-rich and famous visitors.
La Cala de Mijas
With so much on your doorstep you will never tire of things to do either with or without a car. La Cala de Mijas still has that small town charm and feel, yet the refinement and amenities of a modern town. Every Wednesday and Saturday you can walk to the local market within 10 minutes, where you can purchase anything from local fresh produce, clothing, jewellery, and everything else including the kitchen sink.
There are Irish Bars, English Bars and authentic Spanish Bars to choose from, all within a few blocks of each other. You will find restaurants from all corners of the globe and retail stores up and down the narrow, quaint cobble stone streets. A 10 minute walk will take you to the beautiful La Cala de Mijas playa with miles of the Costa del Sol’s finest sand. For your own little Jack Sparrow, a pirate ship playground is located along the beach-walk promenade, a big hit with the kids, if you can drag them away from the inviting, warm Mediterranean ocean. Two convenience grocery stores are within easy walking distance of your apartment, selling most items you need for your stay. For the ultimate shopping experience take either public transportation or drive 10 minute to reach the enormous, local shopping mall (Parque Miramar), with over 160 shops (including favourites like H&M, Zara, and Blanco) and with a multiplex cinema with 12 cinema screens, there is bound to be something screening for your viewing pleasure. Most of the Blockbusters are shown in English, in case your Espanol is a little rusty.
As La Cala de Mijas was once home to the Moors and you can still tour the multitude of castles, walls and towers that are left behind as a part of Spain’s rich and vibrant heritage.
For the golf enthusiast, either beginner or advanced, the apartment is situated in the Golf Valley, with 9 excellent courses, this is a Golfers Paradise. These include the famous La Cala Golf, Mijas Golf, Mira Flores Golf, La Siesta Golf, La Noria Golf, Santana Golf, Calanova Golf, and El Chapatral Club de Golf.

“Really nice apartment!”
We had a really nice short vacation in Malaga - mainly playing golf and drinking red wine and enjoying the Jacuzzi. Should Ryanair fly to Malaga next winter, there is a good chance that we will book your apartment again. It's got everything you need from secure parking basement to a decent entertainment system. Top recommendation.

“A dream holiday in Spain”
This was truly a holiday we will remember! Here we had a blast from the first second. Upon arrival we were very well received and given a brief guided tour of the complex and amenities. We got a good description on how to use everything in the apartment, including a large Jacuzzi on the veranda. There was also a very helpful folder with simple instructions for less "technical gifted " people like myself. We were also tipped off about where in the town we could find places that were of interest to us. The kids were quick to explore the pool area and the fact that it was a salt water pool was a huge plus! No chlorine to bleach the long awaited tan. Having acquainted ourselves with the housing development, we went for a walk down to the beach area. The beach was really great with pleasant sandy bottom and it was also possible to rent sun beds and pedal boats on the beach. On our way back to the apartment we also went by the local supermarket Mercadona, which had both a good selection and good prices. We probably spent about as much time at the pool as on the beach, and we could not have had it better! The storage room down in the garage was stocked with various beach games and also a big umbrella that we took with us down to the beach. This is highly recommended and very comfortable to be able to choose some shade now and then. The pool had straw umbrellas and beach chairs ready to use for all. The apartment had every comfort we could wish for. We used the TV, playstation, movie selection and our computers on the wireless network. This is an apartment I can recommend to everyone, and we had such a great time that none of us wanted to go back home when the holiday was over. We are sure to return again as soon as possible!

“A fantastic week in a superb apartment”
We lived in the apartment from 6 to 13th of March. Since we were not there for a beach holiday, we used the apartment as a base for our daily car trips in the area. We drove many trips into the country, where the nature is very varied and sometimes spectacular, and there were many opportunities for hiking. We also visited many picturesque and interesting cities. “Our” city, La Cala de Mijas, was really nice, and it was good that we easily could walk to and fro. The apartment was perfect for us. It lacked nothing, was clean and welcoming, and well furnished! It was also very nice to have breakfast on the bar stools at the kitchen counter, while the evenings were spent on the porch. Since we had a car, it was very good that we could use the parking space in the basement. Although we like to work out and hike, it was nice to have the lift that brought us up and down to the parking lot, as we usually had a few things to carry. We also inspected one of the outdoor pools, even though we were not interested in swimming. It looked inviting, for those who want to take a dip or relax and sunbathe. In a small house there were toilets, and the sunbeds were available so you can help yourself, if you needed it. The pool area was also completely undisturbed, with grass, plants and palm trees. Green lawns and healthy plants were all over, and walkways clean and easy to access - even with a baby stroller. There must be a gardener who takes pride in keeping the grounds clean and neat! We had a fantastic week, and would love to come back another time! Thank you, Sophie and Einar!

“Really pleased with our accommodation choice!”
I know that is it not easy to choose a place to stay in a town you do not know especially in a foreign country, internet could be very helpful but confusing also... we were lucky to find Oasis Cala de Mijas since we got to live there for 46 days! Thanks to the owners Sophie and Einar who were so helpful and kind to us, we enjoyed their apartment thoroughly. It had everything we needed, it was like a second home to us, comfortable (great bed and linen) and practical with a very well equipped kitchen, indoor parking, basement locker to store our golf clubs and where there was also 2 bikes!. We were proud to have our new European friends over, everybody loved it especially for a drink or diner on the terrace! Mountains, ocean, beaches, incredible blue sky, too many golf courses and restaurants to choose from... so many sites to visit, needless to say that the location was great, very central to travel by car to many beautiful cities and pueblos of the Costa Del Sol (there are also buses that connects major towns on the coast as well) and we could even walk to the beach and to La Cala de Mijas which has shops, groceries and many restaurants. Our vacation was a success and we are certainly looking into going back since we fell in love with the Costa Del Sol. We would unhesitatingly recommend this place to anyone contemplating a vacation in that part of Spain.

“Excellent home for home Apartment”
A superb Luxury apartment with every conceivable item for a comfortable stay. Well equiped kitchen with top of the range white goods and plenty of crockery and glasses etc for a family of 8. Modern dining area and sitting room, again with lovely comfortable safa and chairs. Top of the range TV with HD, Humax satelite system and playstation 3, enough to keep the kids and a few adults happy. Channels all in English. All bedrooms were an excellent size and modern with excellent mattresses. Kids will love the huge bunkbeds. Main bedroom also has a en suite with a power shower and HOT running water which is a novelty in Spain. Then there is the extension room which is excellent for guests who want a breeze running through the room, although the air conditioning is excellent throughout the whole apartment. This room also has the Glass curtains which open fully to let in the air and light and a fantastic view of the sea. What better than a long day on the beach and coming back to the Hot Tub and have a large gin and tonic. Absolute HEAVEN !! The free parking space was also a boon and had the addition of secure parking and a security guard patrolling the premises 24 hours. The owners were easily on hand by phone and email and kept us updated throughout the whole booking process. I would highly reccommend this apartment to anyone looking for a home from home that has everything required for a fantastic stay and is within walking distance of the lovely town and beach area. La Canasta cafe is excellent for beers and a snack, Grill de la Cala was great for dinner in the evening, very friendly staff and very good value for money. The small town has plenty of bars, restaurants, banks and supermarkets for anyone who does not want to leave the area or do not have their own transport. Having travelled around the world, I have to say that is has to be one of the best turned out apartments I have ever stayed in. With 6 adults space can be a problem, but we had ample, close to everything, 25 mins from all the attractions (at the very most). This is the best and most organized place I have had the pleasure of staying in. Thank you. Peter

“A Perfect Holiday”
We stayed in your apartment for two weeks in November. At home inNorway there was thick fog every day.In Spain we had bright sun nearlyevery day, and the one hour of heavy rain was just a niceexperience.Everything in the apartment was fine, nice and clean andhad a high standard. And our contact man, Chris,met us outside thebuilding, and taught us what we had to know about the apartment.Andoutside in the street was a nice guard, night and day. We have neverfelt more secure!Even if it was late November, we walked several timeson the beach.We tested several restaurants. Our favorite restaurantwas Casa Pedro. Very good food and records of K.D.Lang.We had a rentedcar, and went for a trip to Cordoba. Both the landscape on the way,and the old city of Cordobawas well worth a Visit!We`ll surely goback!

“EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A GREAT VACATION”
This apartment has everything you will need to enjoy a great vacation, even if the weather isn't so good (which is quite a rare event in my experience). There is plenty of entertainment with a great TV/Sound system, plus lots of books, Playstation, DVD player, games and toys to amuse even the smallest members of your group. The Hot Tub is a great way to relax and becomes the central point in the evenings as dinner can be taken at the large table on the balcony where the Hot Tub is situated. The whole of the balcony is screened, so cooler or windy evenings are no problem at all, but on warmer nights the entire screen can be rolled back so that the balcony is completely in the open air.....you can even see the sea, which is just a few minutes away. Outside there are extensive gardens and a lovely swimming pool with lots of sunbeds and a sheltered lawned area around the pool. The pool is not overlooked and is surrounded by flowering shrubs and trees, if you like to relax or swim without the feeling of being in a goldfish bowl. Inside the apartment there is plenty of space, good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. There is lots of seating and it is a real 'home from home' with a dishwasher and washing machine if you feel the need to use either. A folder containing instructions in English on how to operate the TV/Sound system etc. has been provided. The well equiped kitchen will allow you to create any type of meal you fancy, but if you don't want to cook there are is a good variety of restaurants nearby, Spanish Tapas bars, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Burger Bars etc.. We liked Henry's as they served tasty and reasonably priced meals and had multiple football games showing, which pleased the men in the family. There are several good sized supermarkets in the vicinity, so fresh milk/bread, cereals/meat/wine etc.and many other provisions can be bought easily. Any queries can be quickly sorted out by the management company, Chris & Gloria, who look after the property. They are just a phone call away and always come up trumps with advice and tips. The apartment is in a very good location, just a few miles from Mijas, Fuengirola and Marbella. The motorway system gives easy access to some great days out in Gibraltar, Cadiz, Ronda, Granada and even Seville and Cordoba, all well worth a visit. If you don't mind getting up early you can even take a one day coach tour of Tangier in Africa! I would recommend this as it is a good introduction to a different culture. The beautiful marinas at Puerto Banus and Benalmadena are easily accessible, in less than 20 minutes if you hire a car. There are so many lovely places to see, but if you just want to chill out, the apartment will meet all your needs. The temperature at the end of October was a very balmy 26 degrees, sunbathing weather! We often take our holidays at half-term in October, we hope to be back here in the next few years and would definitely recommend this apartment for the great amenities and location, and also for the ease of booking and the very prompt responses from Einar, who owns the apartment.
