Description

Mimi's Gite is in the village of L'Isle-en-Dodon approximately fifty-five minutes southwest of Toulouse and within walking distance to three restaurants, three groceries, two banks, a pharmacy and three Doctor's offices. You can learn more about L'Isle-en-Dodon on it's website. Mimi's gite is cozy enough for just one couple or ample enough for three couples or even a family with four children. Only small pets are acceptable with an extra security deposit. The gite is one third of an 18th century house with a history of being a "relay de post" and an auberge. There is a private entrance from the street, a private terrace with a barbecue in a beautiful secluded walled garden. The heated swimming pool (4.5 X 10 meters) and the jacuzzi are for the exclusive use of the gite guest There is only one gite and the one family has exclusive use of the facilities. The gite is on two floors; the ground floor has a completely furnished modern kitchen, dinning area and a sitting area. Wifi, television with available DVD library, wood stove for cool evenings and a reading library are all here. The first floor up has three bedrooms, one family bath and an en-suite bathroom. All bath towels and bed linen as well as pool towels are furnished. There are four double beds in all, a baby bed and highchair are available. The washer and dryer are in the family bathroom. With the Pyrenees mountains an hour to the south, Toulouse less than an hour northeast and our location midway between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean there is a lot to discover from Mimi's Gite as a base. The walled city of Carcasonne, Cathar history and Albi, Roman ruins, the religious shrine at Lourdes and prehistoric cave paintings are just a few of the sites in the Midi Pyrenees region to explore and all less than three hours drive. Come and enjoy!

“Truly beautiful gite with fabulous hosts”

We spent a wonderful week in Mimi's gite, enjoying the pool and the great company of Clark and Keith, who with their warm hospitality and interesting conversation made this a very special place to stay. But the gite itself is so pleasant, you could spend the whole week just chilling out by the pool, drinking wine, and eating good local food or cooking barbecues on the grill.
