Coconut Villa is situated on a hillside tropical garden on a small exclusive private resort of just 15 Villas set in 18,000 sqm of landscaped gardens overlooking the sea. Swimming pool and sunbathing areas and a traditional Thai massage are situated within the resort. The Villa and the resort are Non Smoking.There is also a children's play area and kids pool, a library of books and DVD's and computer with internet access if you don't have your laptop with you. Almost as big as a park the resort grounds have an abundance of tropical plants and palms giving a mood of peace and tranquility. The Villa sleeps up to six persons in three air conditioned on-suite rooms plus, fully equipped Kitchen, DVD player and free wireless internet. Patio & Terraces on ground, first & second floors with sun loungers and areas for dining. Stunning views from the Villa across the sea to the Islands in the Marine National Park. Change of bedding and towels at regular interval. Motorbike rental can be arranged in advance - inquire. If you are travelling in SE Asia the border with Cambodia can be reached in about 2 hours from the mainland, you can get to Phnom Penh, Angkor Wat or Sihanoukville the same day by road. Travel can be arranged from the Island.

Thank you for your review. I have just heard from booking.com that your claims for a refund and compensation have been dismissed. The Villa is situated on and managed by the resort that checked you in and out on your 4 day stay. Despite the problems you claim to have had no report or request was made to reception or the management regarding any issues, yet you kept emailing me, the owner , knowing I was unavailable and not located on Koh Mak. . I suggest that the numerous complaints to Booking.com and myself were in fact an attempt to obtain a refund. You had arrival instructions and a lot of information on the property together with name of the property manager and 2 phone numbers for any assistance. You had a phone number for the manager to meet you at the Pier on Koh mak yet when you couldn’t find him you emailed me instead of calling him. Fortunately I was able to pick up the email immediately and call him for you. In all I have received 22 messages from you, all of which were responded to promptly with either advise or asking you to contact reception for your requirements. For whatever reason no issues were raised with the management, in fact when I spoke with the manager and staff they seemed to think you were happy with your stay. Regarding your complaint to me by email about Geckos getting in to the Villa, there is no house or hotel in Koh mak that is secure from Geckos, nor anywhere else in Tropical Thailand. They are in fact good as they eat mosquitoes and flies. Maybe this is your first time in the Tropics, perhaps Europe would be a more suitable holiday destination for you. A washing machine was never offered, advice was given of the laundry next to the property. The property is cleaned every 3 days; it was in fact cleaned after 2 days. This is not a hotel with daily room service, it is a holiday Villa rental. There are bins outside the property where any garbage can be deposited if too much is acquired before the periodic cleaning. No problem can be found with water coming in to the lower bathroom. You complained to me that there were not enough plates for 6 persons although there were only 4 of you. There are in fact 8 plates and should you have required more they would have been available from the resort reception who for some peculiar reason you refused to communicate with. You say you liked Koh Mak although I don’t see how you can have seen much of it, your time seems to have been spent sending me and booking.com emails and taking photos of minute details of my property. Im at a loss to understand this attitude of refusing to communicate with the management of the property you booked who I pay to take care of guests. Oh! And thank you for sending me the close up photo of the plastic wall light switch with some scratches on it, I will endeavor to get it changed in case any other guest should feel offended by it. I hope it did not spoil your holiday too much. Owner

We had a lovely time. We were shorted on sleeping accommodation. Everything else was wonderful. Pool was not maintained very well but we had the ocean.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Garry (the owner) a message.

If Garry (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
