A beautiful Yorkshire Holiday Cottage near Thirsk North Yorkshire. Luxury Self catering accommodation providing great Cottage Holidays for cyclists , walkers, Morotcyclists and visitors who want easy access to The Yorkshire Dales , North Yorkshire Moors and City of York. A top Yorkshire Holiday Cottage.

The Granary provides WiFi , wide screen TV , DVD library , full kitchen facilities inc integrated dishwasher , fridge /freezer, microwave and a welcome pack. Full size double bed with quality bedding. The bathroom is equipped with quality fittings inc Mira shower , illuminated mirror and shaver point. A washing service is also available. There is a double sofa bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. The Granary has been beautifully furnished and decorated to compliment the original features, using high quality Oak timbers for internal woodwork and artisan Blacksmith fixtures,

Private parking , Patio and gardens with fruit trees and views across open land are provided for visitors comfort and enjoyment, (the sunsets can be spectacular) also visitors can use a secure Cycle or Motorcycle storage and clothing/boot drying locker within the storage area below the accommodation.

The Granary at North Kilvington is a 19 century barn that has been converted into a private home and holiday cottage. The Granary was originally utilised for grain storage, before use as general farm storage, machinery repair and finally conversion to a Holiday home. Original features have been preserved to capture the fabric and scale of the structure.

Features include the external front elevation beams that allow the formation of three openings below the holiday accommodation. These areas were used for cart and machinery storage when part of a farm, these days they are used for general storage and a Bike store/workstation for the Granary Guests.

Within the accommodation the original roof trusses can be seen, these are constructed from Canadian Pine, the large timber beams are slow grown and have growth rings of 250 yrs. Look for the carpenters joint marks where the timbers intersect, these would enable the assembly of the timbers in situ during construction. The Tie bars that run from the outer wall through the kitchen and Bathroom areas are an echo from the historic use of the building. Grain would be stored in the building upper floo , however as the loading of grain increased this would have applied outward pressure to the walls causing them to spread – therefore the tie bars were inserted to prevent damage to the structure and have been retained as a feature from the past.

We are in the country just outside of Thirsk. A car is essential. Cycling , walking and motorcycling are very popular activities in this area. There is a local train station on the main East Coast line and a bus service from nearby South Kilvington.

How do damage deposits work?

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Steve (the owner) a message.

If Steve (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
