Location description from owner

The Krabi Province region

The weather here is generally hot all year round. It cools slightly in December and January, which is the busiest time for tourism. It is referred to as the peak season and the price of accommodation goes up accordingly.

The months of November and February through to end April are also very popular and the weather is usually very good. From May to October it sometimes rains a lot, there is not a lot of tourism, many places close down, and for those that stay accommodation is much cheaper.

Please note, sometimes during the low season (depending on wind direction) sheet netting is put up onto the beach wall to protect the property from sand blown up from the beach. This does not prevent easy access to the beach but may spoil the ocean view. If netting has been put up then, if you wish, you may request for the netting to be taken down, which will not be a problem so long as there are no strong winds blowing sand onto the property from the beach.

Klong Nin Beach

The main reason people come to Lanta for a holiday is because it is relatively peaceful, it retains its original Thai charm, and has some stunning beaches. You are unlikely to ever feel crowded out by other tourists in Lanta.

There are hundreds of restaurants and bars, many of them right on the beach

There are many beautiful islands in the area, and it is easy to join boat trip tours to see them. There are some very good dive sites nearby, and great swimming and snorkelling too.

Non-beach activities include elephant trekking or a trip to see some monkeys. Sites to visit include a National Park, Lighthouse, Waterfall, and Cave. It is worth a trip to visit the Lanta Old Town, and you can also visit a sea gypsy village.

“memories to survive a winter!! superb time”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2015

we were very happy during our week at KOH LANTA and this villa. reliable collection at the airport and transfer via the two ferries put us slowly in the mood for a relaxing time. although we arrived late, the villa manager expected us, and introduced us to the major features of the villa: the villa was immaculately clean and it possesses all features to spend an easy week sufficient air cons; all mod cons, including a coffee machine DO buy your pads at home!!, TVs and a computer with internet, Wifi, ETC. The garden is well maintained, as is the pool by a regular but discrete gardener and pool technician; OH the pool!! what a pleasure to go for a float in the morning, towards the sea, i loved that. absolute highlight? the jacuzzi with bird song and sun. the villa is very quiet. only the occasional curious passers -by enviously looking at our luxury; the sun loungers were comfortable, if you could resist the sea and beach right in front of your nose; as if the views in the evening weren't absolutely stunning, to add to the easy living, the neighbor Martin, is happy to serve you drinks and some food right over the wall, so you can celebrate the sundown(spectacular) in style. In the morning SHANTI SHANTI down the road is a must! their muesli une vraie 'corne d'abondance' of fruits, great atmosphere, if you can manage a scooter that would be ideal(unfortunately i am disabled, so that option was out- but with everything at floor level life otherwise was easy for me, too) no scooter required to cross the road for food at KOOKAI, reasonably priced lovely service, good variety of local food. all in all life is so easy. you can get your washing done across the road, if you after all that you still require pampering a massage on the beach will do the trick. i am sure you begin to understand why we are still live on our memories, and why we will certainly be there next year!!!

“The best villa we have ever stayed in!”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

A superb location right on the beach on the amazing island of Ko Lanta. A true home away from home with everything one needs. The villa is fantastic in all respects. We visited in the green season which is amazing - don't be put off by the words 'low season' as it truly is the best time to go. The villa owner Nigel and the on hand manager Nick couldn't have done more to make our stay so memorable. Paradise on earth! Thank you, we will be back.

“An idyllic holiday in wonderfu,l peaceful surroundings”

Reviewed 11 May 2013

After a tiring journey, we were met by the owner Nigel at the airport who drove us to Koh Lanta via two short ferry journeys. It was a pleasure to see the lovely villa situated on the sea front. The villa is well designed with lounge, kitchen and utility room in one block and two double bedrooms in the other, each with their own well-appointed bathroom. Both the bedrooms can be locked to ensure privacy and yet left open with access for larger parties or families. The furniture, bedding and crockery are already being updated by the owner ready for the next season. The lounge has a computer and access to the internet with a plentiful stock of DVDs and books Nigel had given us plenty of information beforehand and Nick the manager of the villa lives locally. He calls daily and is on the end of the phone for advice over anything, even bought us a box of wine from the larger town as wine is so expensive locally. However the cocktails are a delight and so cheap!! Trips to local islands can be booked through Nick as well as the return taxi. The trips are reasonably priced and excellent value for money. We chose a power boat trip to Phi Phi and other islands, an excellent day out. We soon became familiar with the many restaurants nearby serving excellent food at really cheap prices. We are now converted to Thai food. The locals were friendly and polite and no sign of begging or hassling for your custom. The nearby village stocks all essentials in the 711 supermarket, has a selection of clothes and usual souvenirs/ gifts at very reasonable prices. There are however small shops, next door and across the road, to the villa stocking drinks fresh fruit and yogurts and the restaurant across the road serves excellent food and provides home delivery/ take away service Even though we arrived at the end of the season, the weather was perfect, rained every night but was sunny (not humid) during the daytime! A thoroughly enjoyable holiday in a peaceful location in beautiful surroundings. Thanks Nigel

My husband and I plus 2 friends stayed at this house for a week in December. Our experience was truly wonderful. We loved the view, pool and proximity to everything on koh lanta. We rented scooters from next door & explored the island every day - it was so easy and fun! There are many restaurants nearby and took advantage of cook Kai across the street (you can order and they will deliver). Many thanks to the owner Nigel and manager Nick for answering all our questions & making our stay so memorable. I would recommend this rental highly.

“Great location with your own private pool”

Lovely location to chill out on a Thailand holiday. The infinity pool is a great size and allows you to watch out over the ocean. Comfy beds are a bonus and air con throughout. Recommended.

“Koh Lanta the hidden treasure”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2012

Just had the best holiday Ever spent two weeks on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta. We arrived in Krabi and was welcomed by Nick who was very helpful throughout our entire stay at Koh Lanta. The villa was lovely and had everything we needed, the view from the villa is outstanding and the pool was most  welcoming  in such heat.  There is a lovely pizza restaurant next door run by a lovely family, a must is cook kai across the road and if you don't feel like eating out the will bring the food to your villa.  Nigel the owner was wonderful and contacted us via email before during and after our holiday to make sure we were happy and everything was going well. The children loved the villa, pool and the beach and we found it hard to drag them away but when we did we went Elephant Trekking in the rain forest but if you do this ask for the one that goes to the waterfall has been recommended to us, don't bother with a tour to Gipsy village. Old town we went in the day but too hot I am sure it would have been lovely in the evening.  We hope to go back in a couple of years and hope we can book again with Nigel. The happy Kendall family

“The villa made our holiday perfect!”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2012

The villa was just perfect for 4 week holiday for two families with young children. Location was very good between the nice Klong Nin beach and a small road. Cook Kai restaurant home delivery was very useful and we also ate in many times. Communication with the owner Nigel and villa manager Nick was very easy. As an improvement the villa could use better shading on the upstairs bedroom windows, upper windows in the the living room house and the patio by the pool as afternoon sun makes them really hot. Overall we could not have chosen a better!

“Much better than the photos suggest”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2012

This was our 3rd visit to Koh Lanta. The previous 2 times we have stayed at Layana resort. We chose this villa instead as Layana had changed hands and we also fancied a change. Firstly the communication with Nigel the owner was excellent throughout combined with the superb support of the local villa manager Nick. The pictures of the villa on Tripadvisor do not do it justice especially the inside. The villa is finished to a really high standard throughout especially the downstairs bathroom which an ablution paradise. The pool is also well designed with easy access, a shallow seated bit in the water for reading a book and cooling off at the same time and 4 water jets to bubble up the pool. The pool is also very well maintained on a regular basis. the fridge freezer is large, plenty of loo rolls, towels, bin bags, shampoo, tissues and mosquito repellent all supplied. The 2 bedrooms are of a good size with the upstairs offering a balcony. Aircon fitted throughout, fans in each room, DVD players and TV in each room, free WIFI and use of a computer. What we loved about the living space is that there are sliding doors on 2 sides so it has a wonderful open feeling during the day. Klong Nin beach is rather similar to long beach further north. it is about 3km long, not very busy with a scattering of restaurants and laid back beach bars. Next door is a good pizzeria and across the road is a popular Thai restaurant call Cook Kai. We did not try many more eateries on the beach. One place you must go for dinner is L Maladee which is just outside Saladan. Some of the best Thai food I have eaten over 17 years coming to Thailand. I famous restaurant on the island called Time for Lime was disappointing this time. There is a Seven Eleven 5 minutes up the road and an ATM. you can usually flag a taxi or Tuk Tuk down within 5 minutes from the back of the villa. A visit to Lanta old Town is well worth it. it is about 15 minutes by taxi and the drive takes you right through the heart of the Island. good places to eat there are Mango House for Western food or Fresh restaurant for Thai food and an amazing view. Overall we were really pleased we chose this villa. everything went smoothly and it was a real treat to spend 2 weeks in such a wonderful space. We will be returning!!

“Perfect Thai Beach Villa”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2012

This is an excellent Villa and represents good value for money. Klong Nin is one of the best beaches on Lanta and this Villa is right on the waterfront (with just the private pool seperating you from the sea). Local restaurants will bring your meals to the villa and there are some great places close by if you want to dine out (check our Sri Lanta on the beach or Cook Kai behind the villa). Property manager also lives close by and will visit promptly if you experience any problems. Likely we will return next January. Highly recomended.

“relaxed Beach Holiday”

Reviewed 1 Jan 2012

After 1 week in this villa we were totally relaxed. The villa offers everything you need for that. Nice Pool, you can swim with a view of the sea and sunset and this in privacy. Nice and clean rooms. A few steps in front of the pool is the beach and left and right in about 100m distance are some beach restaurants. The beach itself is one of the nicest we have seen, and we travel a lot... There are 3 other villas of the same style left of the property, separated with walls. On the right side, also separated with a wall is a italian restaurant but that will not disturb you because no music and only few guests. We like it because you can order good pizza (between the thai food) without leaving the villa. On the other side of the street is a very good thai restaurant and a small shop for water, snacks, beer etc. The pickup service from Krabi Airport has also worked very well and is recommended if you come from a long flight.
