Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Kirriemuir

Kirriemuir is a beautiful town and is nicknamed 'The wee red toon' due to the buildings being made from red sand stone. Kirriemuir has its special claim to fame, in that it was the birthplace of J.M.Barrie the author of Peter Pan. The statue of Peter Pan stands proudly in the town centre and J.M. Barrie's birthplace can be visited within the town. We are also very proud to claim the famous rocker Bon Scott from ACDC as one of our own. Born in Kirriemuir. His statue which was erected in 2016 is also a highlight of our town. Kirriemuir has shops, pubs and cafes within the town.

Kirriemuir is also known as the gateway to the Glen's. You are surrounded by the beautiful, Glen Clova, Glen doll, Glen isla and Glen prosen. Perfect for sightseeing.

“Cosy Christmas”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2017

Lovely accommodation with a quirky bedroom. The Bothy provided everything we needed for a short break back to our native Scotland. Very suitable accommodation all round and the log fire was so warming when the snow started to fall. Hosts were on hand to help when needed.
