FOXFLAT is a well positioned main door apartment off Castle Douglas' main shopping street, King Street. It is within immediate walking distance to all the market town's amenities. Arranged over first floor level the apartment sleeps 4/6 persons with 2 bedrooms and a third bedroom/ sitting room. Decorated to a high standard, the apartment benefits from a large exclusive garden to the rear with direct back door access. The lounge/ dining room area comfortably seats 6 people both in the lounge and dining areas and benefits from a wood burning stove fire, TV and DVD/CD player. There are 2 lovely brown leather sofas and a comfy armchair with foot stool. The main double bedroom is situated off the lounge with memory foam mattress, dressing table area and fitted wardrobes. There is also a TV and play-station with plentiful games and DVDs. The shower room is freshly decorated located off the hall with a good electric shower, and new wc and sink. Downstairs on entry there is a vestibule with storm door and a spacious hall with hat and coat stand, lamp and console table. There is a door leading to the utility area and back garden. The utility area stores a washer/ dryer and has ample space to store bikes. The garden, which is a sun trap, is raised up by about 6 steps and is arranged over one level. There is a washing line in the garden, seating area, picnic table, deck and BBQ. Parking is free, off street around the corner (opposite Police Station).

Castle Douglas is a picturesque market town in the heart of Dumfries and Galloway. There is plenty to do in the area including walks to Barstrobrick Monument, Screel, the National Trust Walk at Kippford to Rockcliffe or a shorter walk to Threave Gardens. Threave Castle is about 2 miles away which housed the Black Earls of Douglas. There are plenty of golf courses nearby from 9 holes in Castle Douglas, Tongland (driving range) and Barnbarrock to championship courses at Southerness. The 7 Stanes is close by for cycling enthusiasts close to Dalbeattie.
There is an abundance of places to visit for families including Cream O Galloway, Cocoa Bean Factory, Mabie Farm Park, Dalscone Pottery, Galloway Activity Centre and the Waterski Centre at Loch Ken.
The town has a tourist information office open from April to October at the main car park at the top of the town close to the library and there is a To Do Folder inside FOXFLAT.

Kirkudbright

The town itself is known as the 'Food Town' and is renowned for its independent retailing. King Street is the main thoroughfare with lots of butchers, Delis, coffee shops and restaurants. Favourites are Designs Cafe and In house for a quality coffee. In terms of dining out there are many options from good bar food to Italian (Carlos), Indian (Jewel in the Crown), Chinese (Jade Palace and take away Great Wall). There are plenty of pubs/ hotels and the Sulwath Brewery is worth a visit for a sample of locally brewed beers.
The town has an enviable retailing offer with ladieswear, menswear, childrenswear and homeware with many shoppers travelling from far afield as well as a good 'shop local' mentality. Favourites are Foxhat, Livingstons, Designs, Tessera and Country House. There are a few antique shops for a rumage.
There is a nearby 'Loch walk' around Carlingwark Loch. With plenty of activity options including tennis courts in the town, 2 parks at the top and bottom end of King Street, library and a small public swimming pool the children can be kept amused very local. There are other swimming pools in Kirkcubright and a larger leisure pool in Dumfries, DG1. The Fullarton provides the town's cinema and Theatre offering.
