“Lovely cottage in great location”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2017

Enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Great location with the beach only 10 minute walk away and a short drive in to St Andrews & Crail. Cottage is well equipped, clean and cosy and loved the wood burner. We were lucky with the weather and made use of the lovely garden which has the sun shining into it all day. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Owner's reply: Really pleased to hear you enjoyed the cottage and you were here for the Scottish summer. Both days of it! Sun by day Stove by night. Great combination. We hope you can come back another time. Kind regards, Steve & Cassandra

“Perfect return stay”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2017

This is now our 3rd visit to this cottage and as enjoyable as previous experiences. The cottage is well equipped and the impressive log burner adds that special touch particularly after a relaxing stroll with the dog on the lovely beach nearby. It is also a great base for exploring the kingdom of Fife and is very good value for money. All credit to the owners for making this such a special place to stay.

Owner's reply: Thanks for the lovely comments and also for returning to our cottage. For me the log burner is the icing on the cake. It's a nicer view than most of the TV programs. Thanks once again for the continued support. Steve &a Cassandra

“Lovely little cottage”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2017

Had a lovely time in this little cottage the woodburner stove was great and made the house cosy and warm. We love the area and the walks are great for the dogs, the cottage was also great for them as the garden was secure and had loads of things for them to sniff and it was lovely to sit out with a glass of wine and watch the world go by.

Owner's reply: Lyndsay, Nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and managed to get some quality relaxation time. Regards, Steve & Cassandra

“So lucky to find this place!”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2016

Very, very good accommodation. Everything you could possibly need is to hand. The owners are welcoming and they keep the cottage immaculately clean. The wood burning stove was a big bonus - very easy to light and a joy to sit around. We were there for a family wedding but also enjoyed walks along the nearby beach which is less than a mile away. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Sheila, So glad to hear you had a great weekend at the wedding and able to relax and enjoy the comforts of the Cottage. The wood burner is a great feature to sit around and spend some quality family time together. We hope to see you back some other time. Kind regards, Steve & Cassandra

“Excellent location for all hou golf players”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2016

The Stackyard Kingsbarns is the perfect holiday cottage especially if you want to use it as a base for a golfing holiday. Bright, clean ans tidy with all the mod cons needed. The owners make access to the property very easy and I would definitely stay here again to expore other great golf courses in the area.

Owner's reply: Mike, Glad to hear that you and your friends had such a good time. Kingsbarns certainly is a great golfing base, as you would have seen the sign outside the house "550 metres" to the Kingsbarns golf course. Hope you can come back some other time. Kind regards, Steve & Cassandra

“Just Perfect”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2016

Just returned from a stay in this fantastic cottage, what a find!! We were visiting St Andrews for my son's Graduation. Our party included myself, husband, mother-in-law and Labrador Bodie. Right from the off Steve was brilliant when I contacted to see if it was OK to bring the dog as (dog friendly cottages are hard to find in St Andrews) he came back to me immediately. It was lovely to meet him during the week. The cottage is a little bit of peace away from the hubbub of St Andrews on graduation week but still only 10 mins away. The East Neuk of Fife is a hidden 'Kingdom' with the quaint fishing villages. The cottage has everything you will need and is extremely comfortable, even being on the road, we sat at night with the door open and it was still peaceful. Best walks ever for the dog!! There is no doubt that we will return for sure. Thank you Steve and Cassandra.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the kind review. I'm sure your son's graduation helped elate your feeling during the stay. Well done to him! We both hope you can return to enjoy Kingsbarns some other time. Best wishes, Steve & Cassandra

“Late Christmas”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2016

I stayed at this property with my 2 daughters to have a late Christmas, it couldn't had been better. Well equipped and decorated superbly. We probably picked the coldest and windiest weekend this year but the log burner made the cottage feel so cosy. Excellent communication from the owners right from the start with a very casual friendly handover on the day of arrival. I don't think I could have picked more suitable accommodation for our needs. I would definitely return to stay again.

Owner's reply: Lee, Thanks for your kind words. The Woodburner has been the best addition to the house, even more so when we are on the back end of an atlantic storm. Great to hear you & your daughters had a great time and we hope you managed to play some of the games with them and make the best of your time. We hope you can come back some other time. Cassandra & Steve

“Lovely cosy cottage beautifully refurbished.”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2016

Very much enjoyed our recent stay at this little cottage in Kingsbarns. Recent refurbishment included easy to manage log burner which was really lovely. About to book a return visit.

Owner's reply: Helen, It sounds that in spite of the high winds, you still managed to get some walking done in the area. Lucky for you & Liz. Thanks for making another booking with us, we look forward to seeing you on your return. Take care. Stephen & Cassandra

“Perfect cottage and location”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2015

This cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated and and equipped to the highest standard. We wanted for nothing- there was even fresh milk provided and other store-cupboard essentials. It is warm and cosy; the wood-burning stove was all set ready to light . The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Also, dog friendly. The location is superb- a lovely walk down the lane to a beautiful quiet beach. A couple of minute walk to the village inn which serves delicious food. A short drive into St Andrew's. We will definitely be back

Owner's reply: Jane, So good to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. We have had a lot of positive feedback about the stove - without doubt, much better to watch than the TV. Kingsbarns is a nice wee village and having the dog, gives you a great opportunity to explore. I'm glad you got to visit the local Inn. It was closed for a while and the new owners are doing a great job since opening it up. Hope to see you again. Steve & Cassandra

“great”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2015

Great location with all mod cons - cosy and warm. Very well equipped and all services working. Steve dealt with us and attended to every query and request very promptly. Would love to stay there again - easy access to all local areas.

Owner's reply: George, Glad you had a nice stay at Kingsbarns. Pity about Hurricane Desmond! We hope you can make it back and get some nice weather. Regards, Steve & Cassandra
