Location description from owner

The County Donegal region

Co Donegal has the longest coastline of all the counties along the Wild Atlantic Way, and some of the most spectacular scenery.

Slieve League sea cliffs are the highest in Europe, more than twice as high as the Cliffs of Moher - if you don't fancy the walk to the top there are boat trips available from Teelin Pier.

Glenveagh National Park covers 40,000 acres of moorland, mountains, lakes and woods - walks are self guided and you may catch sight of a golden eagle or red deer. During the summer guided tours of Glenveagh Castle and gardens are available.

Grianan of Aileach is a circular fort on a hilltop approx. 800ft above sea level, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Built around 1700bc, it is steeped in legend.

Kincasslagh

Mullaghduff is a peaceful townland on the Wild Atlantic Way, between the villages of Annagry and Kincasslagh (both approx. 3km away). The townland consists of a number of houses and a traditional Irish bar - Bonner's, with a great reputation for food and music, and is close to the Donegal coastline - Carrickfinn and Mullaghderg are the nearest beaches less than 3km away.

Mullaghduff was also home to Celtic Park's first sod of turf, which was cut in 1995. In June 1995 a small plaque was unveiled along the road by Celtic Captain Paul McStay.
