Getting around

Visit the Hebridean islands of Islay, Gigha, Colonsay, Mull and Iona. Drive to Kennacraig and take the ferry to the island of Islay famous for its whisky or drive to Tayinloan and take a short ferry crossing to the island of Gigha with its gardens. Colonsay has been described as Scotland in miniature. Colonsay ferries run from Oban some days and Kennacraig on others. Ferries to Mull operate from Oban. If you wish to visit Iona, famous for its Abbey and St Columba then be sure to contact Caledonian MacBrayne early for details about Mull sailings as the car ferry is heavily booked up in July and August

Interaction with guest

The keys are left in an agreed place for the guest to ensure the guest can access the Chalet on their arrival. Most of the time Janet welcomes guests personally however occasionally this is not possible. On the table in the living room there is a red ring folder with essential information about the Chalet.

“Perfect chalet for 2 people”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2017

In the heart of Kilmartin. The owner was friendly and helpful. So quiet and peaceful, with beautiful scenery. The bed was very comfortable, and everything we needed was provided in the cottage.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to review the chalet. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

“Glorious and tranquil!”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2016

This lovely chalet is located in a beautiful part of Scotland, it's a perfect escape to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! It's perfectly secluded and local attractions include a fascinating museum on local history, and some lovely local walks in the surrounding area. I would highly recommend for a week/long weekend escape!!!

Owner's reply: Thank you for reviewing the Chalet.

“A cosy base for exploring the area”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2013

The perfect place to explore Kilmartin. A good base for walking, cycling and kayaking and lots of archaeology in the area. The property is cosy, with good parking and and a lovely sheltered garden to use at any time. The neighbouring pub (2 mins walk) does excellent food and drink.
