“Pleasant cabin amidst similar others with loch view”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2016

Pleasant stay with family. Not a huge amount to do for our teenage boys in the area so be prepared to make your own fun. The loch side bistro was good but the sailing school was not obviously open and unappealing.

Thanks for your review Graham - so glad you enjoyed your stay. Many of the sailing school activities are weather dependent and as it is the quiet season pre booking may be required at this time of year. I will highlight this to future guests.

“Second stay in the best place on earth”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2016

This is our second stay at Firbush Lodge and it was even more amazing than the first. The Lodge is very well furnished and can easily cope with the four of us and our dog. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped with a double and 4 single beds in the 3 bed rooms, an adequate bathroom and the most important bit... The living/dining area is comfortable with plenty of space and light, it is warm and cosy when the snow is falling and bright and airy when the sun is shining and the porch door is open. You dine with the loch and mountains as your view which is stunning. The site its self has a sailing/fishing boat hire center, a lovely resteraunt/bar with great food and an open fire and a mini golf course. There is a beautiful woodland right next to the lodge and the loch and its great for the kids/dog to explore with small waterfalls and hidden bays and some truely stunning trees around which dens can be built. There is also a small play area and frisbee golf area further up the hill but we only used these briefly as my family preferred the woodland and the beaches of the loch. Just a few of the things that we got up to in the local area seem to have hardly touched the surface but we climbed up Ben Lawers (even the 3 year old as there is a nice path to follow from the car park), We walked up the Birks of Aberfeldy (a beautiful gorge and waterfall), went pony riding in Kenmore, had a highland safari with a brilliant tour guide in a Landrover, visited the Crannog Center which we found very interesting and really enjoyed speaking to the staff and getting to do some of the activities of Iron age life (we may even have made it onto the web site video which they were filming the day we were there) and went for a walk around Taymouth Castle. There are many more things to see and do in the area and all over the Highlands which we fully intend to do using Firbush Lodge as our base next summer. The owners are also incredibly nice. I have been in contact with them since our first booking, they gave us a repeat booking discount and contacted us the day before we were due to arrive to say that the lodge had been vacant so we could arrive at any time we wanted. I can not recommend this Lodge highly enough and really can't wait to get back up there again in the summer of 2017. We all loved it so much that our 3 and 5 year old boys both cried that they didnt want to leave at the end of our holiday.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We love it there too and it was so nice to hear that all of you - especially the children had such a good time. We have been going for years and are still finding new things to do. Look forward to welcoming you all back next year!

“Amazing location & cozy lodge”

This lodge is in and amazing location overlooking Loch Tay. It has everything a family required. Pleanty of walking right from the door.

It is an amazing location - thank you for review. Glad you all had a lovely time and a safe journey home.

“An amazing location!”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

I would highly recommend a stay at the Firbush Lodge. It is on the banks of the beautiful Loch Tay with stunning views and surrounded by hills and mountains. The tame ducks keep young children occupied and the verandah is a wonderful base for adults to sit with a cuppa and watch them enjoying nature in this safe environment. The Lodge itself is fully equipped and comfortable and our three nights there were very enjoyable.

Thank you so much. We are delighted you had a great time and enjoyed everything Firbush and the location has to offer
