Very Good

Reviewed 11 Aug 2017

We spent a week in this gorgeous cottage which is only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Killarney. Everything in the cottage you could possibly need. Evi the owner is wonderfully helpful and extremely friendly lady - nothing is too much trouble for her. Gorgeous garden to sit in and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful surroundings. A great base for visiting Ring of Kerry and surrounding beauty spots and stunning scenery. We will definitely return!

Owner's reply: I am very happy that's you enjoyed your stay in cottage Lotti.Thank you

“Very nice but ...”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2013

One is led to believe that the owner is the caretaker, however Evi is the owner - a lovely Swiss lady who is very enthusiastic and friendly. The cottage was very clean and well presented and there were eggs and bread and milk to kick-start our pone- week stay. There were issues with the Wi-Fi that needed to be picked up from the cottage next door and when attended to the connection was better but slow. We entered the agreement knowing that we needed to insert coins into a meter to keep the electricity connected and that we would need to pay for the heating oil used. This seemed a bit penny- pinching to us - perhaps it would be better to build this into the weekly tariff so everything would be covered and the full tariff known. Being advised when we arrived that there was a cleaning fee payable if we preferred that she was to clean up was a surprise and unexpected - again, one normally expects to tidy up before leaving anyway and it seemed a bit off-putting. Over-all a nice experience and the above comments are being made as constructive suggestions to Evi, the owner. For this reason we have given a rating of 4 out of 5. Lawrie for Amanda & Lawrie

“Lovely cottage, lovely host!”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2012

My friend and I stayed at Cottage Lotti in mid-October, for 3 nights. The cottage was beautiful, immaculate, extremely well-appointed, and conveniently located (approximately 3 miles from Killarney). Evi is a warm and gracious hostess; after giving us time to settle in, she met us to review the heating, electricity and electronics. She even provided us with bread, butter, milk and eggs! My friend and I did quite a bit of sight-seeing during the day and enjoyed reading on our Kindles before a crackling fire in the living room at night. Overall, we were thoroughly charmed and would return in a heartbeat!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for that lovely review!Would love to have you two sweethearts visit again! Love, Evi

“What a haven whatever the weather with the perfect hosts!”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2012

We stayed for a fortnight, probably a mistake with the inclement weather sadly but Cottage Lotti didn't disappoint. Snug and cosy, helped by an open fire which we had roaring, and the most delightful hosts you could ask for. Basics were provided on arrival which was a sweet touch, and they swung into action when we couldn't use the 3G dongle with our phones, pointing their wifi at the cottage to keep us in touch with the world! It isn't set up for small children but there is a huge garden, and our girls had a great time reenacting the Olympics anyway! A great touch was a sky box which recorded, meaning that we weren't reliant on 'live' TV on wet days. If you want total solitude within very easy reach of a town, beaches, mountains and other attractions, Cottage Lotti is a great choice. Thank you!

“Beautiful accommodation in idyllic setting”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2012

When you enter Cottage Lotti it certainly has the WOW factor. Everything is white and pristine and you really feel at home. The owner had left bread, milk, butter, eggs etc and there was also a large store of goods that other people had left behind. There was even a week's supply of toilet rolls!!! The property is very well secure if you have children with you and across the road is a herd of very friendly cattle who like to watch your comings and goings. On the minus side we weren't aware at the time of booking that there was an electric meter and that the central heating oil had to be paid for as well. Perhaps I had missed this when reading the details of the property. The cottage is situated in a single track road approx 3 1/2 miles from Killarney Town Centre and the nearest pub is about 2 miles, continuing on the single track road, in the opposite direction. The owner and her daughter are your two neighbours so at least if there are problems they are to hand. Absolutely loved the cottage but the location would prevent me from booking it again.

“Wonderful, tranquil cottage with everything you could need”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2012

Evi is a wonderful host and lives next door to this great holiday cottage. Everything is there that you could need, right down to dishwasher tablets and shampoo! The cottage was clean, quiet and comfortable and we could enjoy a log fire every night. It's about 10 minutes drive from Killarney so easy access to the bustling town centre, but so quiet out in the hills, with a lovely garden. The only thing that would have been nice to have is internet access. If we come back to this area we will definitely be looking to stay here again!

“Great cottage, beautifully furnished and well-outfitted, little difficult to get to”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2011

Loved our stay at Cottage Lotti, it is a beautifully furnished and well-outfitted house. The beds were comfortable and the owner very agreeable and engaging. There was a little confusion upon our arrival as to whether our reservation was that night, but it was all quickly worked out. The cottage itself is a little distance outside of Killarney, which we knew, but there is only a one-lane (but two-way) road leading to the cottage around some harrowing turns. Would definitely stay there, again, though! Thanks so much for the lovely stay.

“Brilliant holidays at Cottage Lotti”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2011

We stayed at Cottage Lotti for 1 week and had a great time! The cottage is easy to find with the directions provided and everything it promised to be. It is in a very quiet spot, ideal for families or couples travelling with friends. The place is fully equipped with everything ones heard can desire. In particular the kitchen had many more items than I expected from previous cottage experiences. The service was great, we were welcomed very warmly and felt at home from the first day. The area offers lots to do for every weather though a car is essential. We will definitely be back to this part of Ireland and the cottage!!
