- Very Good
We had a fabulous week and can't wait to return next year. The beaches were perfect for our kids to enjoy as well as the dogs and the property was lovely to return to after a fun packed day. Added bonus was the front garden that meant the dogs could go outside safely. One of the best holidays we have had.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review - and also for booking again next year. So glad you had a lovely time and look forward to welcoming you again. Enjoy the rest of this summer. Best wishes, Linda
“Damp & smelly”
There is obviously a damp problem going on. The smell hit us when we opened the door, The bathroom smelt like cat pee & there was mould crawling on the floor in the bathroom & kitchen, the toilet seat kept slipping off. Not enough hooks/rails in bathroom for towels etc. The kitchen is room enough for 1 person at a time and limited storage for food. Small fridge. You have to buy electric cards for the meter.
Wow, don't know what to say, just really upset to get such a vitriolic review. Did you stay at the same place as my other reviewers this year?? There is NO damp, the place is shut up for 4 months over the winter and there is no damp then. When my cleaner left it, a couple of hours before you arrived, there was no smell of cat pee in the bathroom. Maybe the cats broke in before you got there and peed everywhere! There was no smell when I was there a couple of weeks back. My cleaner was extremely put out about "mould crawling on the floors" as just previously to you arriving she'd mopped both floors with antibacterial cleaner (as she does every week). She is a well known and very well thought of cleaner in the area. I know you broke the toilet seat and this has temporarily been mended and I have a handyman coming in to fix it - had you told me it was broken, I would have had it fixed. The bathroom has a towel rail, a clothes airer and a double hook on the door, as there are on both bedroom doors and 4 hooks in the inner hall, just outside the bathroom, even a hook under the porch and a washing line to dry towels on when its dry. My husband and I can manage to be in the kitchen at the same time without crashing into each other. Its not huge, but why would it be, its a holiday bungalow. We manage to store a weeks worth of food (we eat in all the time) and food for 2 dogs. The fridge is a normal size - again, what on earth were you expecting? Yes, electricity is not included (though at least £2 is left in the meter) - if it was included, it would say so. You obviously have a hidden agenda - possibly expecting a refund if you remove this review. This is my much loved holiday home that I use - I make a lot of effort for my guests with lots of info, "call me with any questions", there are masses of books, games, CDs, DVDs. There is a welcome tray on arrival with tea, coffee and biscuits, milk in the fridge, even a bonio for your dog. There are toiletries left in the bathroom and I know my cleaner lays the table to make it look extra welcoming. You were able to bring you dog - and free of charge (quite unusual these days). If you'd mentioned any of these things to me when you were there, I would have had them sorted immediately, but you chose not to - for some reason! I couldn't actually build an extension on the kitchen, but you did see photos of it before you booked - and the tiny fridge too!! I honestly just don't know why you had to write such a spiteful review. You obviously wouldn't want to stay again - and neither would you be welcome.
“Lovely family holiday”
We spent a wonderful week at Villa Nostra at the end of July 2016. Two adults, a 4 year old and toddler of 21 months stayed there and there was plenty of room for all of us, including all our luggage, toys and travel cot. Linda, the owner, could not have been more helpful before our arrival in answering all our queries and helping us to locate a travel cot and highchair so that we did not have to bring one with us. The outside walled garden was a great place for the children to play safely and is a great space to sit in the sun. The facilities at Penstowe are great for children and we all enjoyed the swimming pool and evening entertainment.
Thank you so much for the kind comments. I'm so glad you all enjoyed it and we finally managed to sort the cot out! Since this is our own holiday home, I just want people to enjoy themselves once they're there and so it was a pleasure to help out. Enjoy the rest of the summer and thank you once again for taking the time and trouble to write a review. Linda
