- Very Good
“Enchanting place to stay, lovely surroundings”
The chalet was very welcoming and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need. The bathroom has a good shower and was also very clean. The site itself has quite a few trees and open spaces so you definately feel in the countryside. Kilhampton was very close to walk to and is a lovely village. Overall we had a great stay and will be back!
“"The wrong week"”
As title the week before our stay was glorious , sadly we had lots of rain, which added to the poor natural lighting of Chalet! The chalet itself was comfortable and homely if a little dated! We had everything we needed and the owner Ed was very helpful and a pleasure to do business with. It was lovely staying amongst the trees but would help lighting and slight dampness if cut back a little . A nice base for visiting bude , would go back .
“A beautiful place to stay.”
Beautiful area, lovely views. Handy for visiting fantastic places. Port Issac is quite stunning and you might be lucky and spot Doc Martin himself. Bude, Newquay and Padstow have great beaches. Oh boy, them hills and steps on and off the beaches they make your legs and back ache. No good for wheelchairs. The Chalet was a lovely place to stay. A bit damp to start with. Needed the heating on at first but had all we needed. We had visitors everynight. Hedgehogs. Gorgeous a rare sight. Please look after them.
“11 hillside penstowe”
Lovely little chalet, has everything you need for a base. Bit dated and slight smell of damp but worth the money paid. Park is very nice, would definatly book to stay here again.
“Bargain stay for the price”
Fantastic chalet, location & entertainment for the price, if you want 5 star pay 5 star prices but great for a base & nearly the same price of camping but with loads of great benefits. Would book again!
“Excellent value and lovely stay”
Stayed in the chalet on a short break and had a lovely time. The chalet was nicely presented and very clean. The rooms are a good size and being able to open the patio doors in the lounge and listen to the birds was a real plus. The site is well kept and is only a short walk to the village centre. We will definately be back.
The first thing I would like to say is that the owner of this property was very quick to respond to my concerns and to sort out a solution. We arrived at the chalet late afternoon and were greeted by an overwhelming smell of damp. We thought that perhaps the place had been uninhabited for a while, put our things in, heating on and went shopping. Some hours later the rooms still smelt strongly of damp. Tired and needing to rest we sat on the sofa to watch the TV. The sofa was not very clean and under the cushions there were crumbs, sweet wrappers and dog hair. We decided there and then that we would not be able to stay and the next morning we were up and out early with our belongings packed back in the car. I contacted the owner, Ed, by text and told him that we couldn't stay and why. He very quickly rang me back and despite the fact that he did not agree that the place smelt damp (he had been there the day before) he did agree to reimburse me for the 2 nights that we had been unable to stay. He made a bank transfer very quickly. The chalet is very cheap and in a beautiful location. The park is pleasant with lots of grass and what looked like a nice pub nearby.
Lovely tranquil place. Furniture not modern but comfy and cosy place . Owners always polite and thanks again for the lovely touch of putting flowers on the table. Will be going back
We stayed here for 4 nights, was good value for money and the chalet had everything we needed, the only down side was a very strong damp smell and no matter how long you aired the place it just came right back, think the biggest problem is the trees directly in front of the chalet which block all the sunlight out. The stables pub on site has good food and a great atmosphere, we only ventured up t poo the main house a couple of times and it was very quiet almost dead to be honest.
We had a lovely stay here, plenty of room, well presented and found it very homely. It was clean with everything we needed for the weekend. Fresh flowers were a nice touch and the owner even left a card and chocolates as it was my birthday. Great location close to some great beaches, we were very happy and would come back again. Thank you for a pleasant stay :)
