“Great location and a very conscientious owner”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2014

Our second year at this chalet and it was just as good as we remembered. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, it has everything needed for a relaxing stay. The entertainment in the Manor House is fun with lots of activities available. Some aspects of the park are a little tired but the staff are friendly and helpful. The Kid's Club (every morning) was a big hit with our 8 year old and the disco certainly helped use up any energy left over after a day out. As for the local area...well, it's Cornwall so loads of great beaches and stunning views to be had. Some of my favourite beers are local too so if Tribute or Doom Bar are your kind of ale then you will be very happy. Dog owners are well catered for with most local pubs happy to allow them in after a walk. Have to mention The Tree Inn in nearby Stratton for possibly the best Sunday carvery ever! Also worth the trip to Boscastle for a great harbour and some delicious fresh lobster.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your second visit to the chalet. We must check out the pub at Stratton for the carvery, thanks for the tip. Have a wonderful New Year! Best wishes, Katie & Neil

“Modern, well equiped chalet”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2014

The chalet is set in lovely grounds and is close to the village where there are pubs, shops and take-aways. The chalet is well decorated and really well equipped

Owner's reply: Thank you for your kind review - we're so glad you had a good time at the chalet. We've recently changed the flooring and upgraded the bathroom. I'm pleased you find it well-equipped - you'd be very welcome to return any time! Best wishes, Katie and Neil

“Lovely place to stay with very good amenities and great location”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2013

Great communication and highly efficient service from the owner. Beautiful family place, or little cosy romantic hideaway. Really useful amenirites onsite, brillant location. Great little village close by, very good chippie too!! It has everything that you would need, and is perfect for a great holiday long or short, family or couples would have to go far to top this. Really comfy bed!! Brillant power shower too! both much better than my own at home.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your positive feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and appreciated your time at the chalet. We always sleep well there too! We've just installed a new cooker and will be making further upgrades before the 2014 season. Best wishes, Katie

“Ideal property to relax & explore”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2013

Just got back from a great week. Weather was fantastic (most of the time)Plenty of room for myself, the wife and six and nine year old children. Clean, very comfortable and a great chalet to chill out in watching a DVD, having a drink at the end of long days on the beach in Bude and exploring the local towns and villages. Didn't use the facilities at Penstowe Manor as there was just simply too much to explore and do in the area. Bude beach is fab, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Boscastle are great places to visit. Very good value property.

Owner's reply: Thanks very much for your positive comments, we're delighted you had a great week in our chalet and had a chance to relax and explore this lovely part of Cornwall. Hope to welcome you again, there's a discount for previous guests! Best wishes, Katie & Neil

“Very cosy”

The cottage was very clean upon arrival. The directions could do with updating. There was everything needed except perhaps a little coffee table in the lounge area. The park is well maintained and the facilites good. The cottage is well situated for peace at the time of year we visited.

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for your review. We will certainly be updating the directions, and are looking into buying a little coffee table for next season. Your feedback is much appreciated. We hope you'll visit us again in 2014. Best wishes, Katie and Neil

“A comfortable base for exploring Cornwall and Devon”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

Last weekend my partner and I stayed in this chalet for three nights; we were looking for a short break in the North Cornwall & Devon area to celebrate our anniversary, and this chalet was ideal. We preferred the idea of a chalet to a hotel because of the value for money, and also because it allowed us to make ourselves at home and have more space. The chalet is equipped with everything you need, including plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils, decent appliances and comfortable furniture and facilities. The only thing we did note was there were no toilet rolls in the bathroom initially, and we did not know whether we needed to buy some before we arrived. Fortunately, there is a Spar and Premier in the village which were open until around 8pm. We were hoping to have a fairly low budget trip away, and the self-catering option was perfect for us. As we spent most of our time out and about we didn't even use £5 of electric, so this too was cheap for us. The chalet itself was a little chilly, but there are electric heaters in every room which we used a couple of times as we were conscious of electricity usage. As well as this, there are two large blankets in the wardrobe which were useful when in the chalet for long periods of time during the evening. The location is great, as there are facilities at the holiday park ideal for families, including leisure and entertainment. However, North Cornwall is fairly remote and it is difficult to explore unless you drive. We drove to Bude a couple of times for dinner, and also visited Clovelly (lovely village to visit), Tintagel and Boscastle for day trips. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, and if we return to the North of Cornwall again, I'm sure we will definitely consider staying here!

Owner's reply: Thanks for your review, we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The weather has been unseasonally damp and cool so I'm glad you found the fleecy blankets and used the heaters. Let's hope we see more of the sun this summer! There are so many nice places to visit in Cornwall that I think a car is a necessity. We hope to welcome you again at some point in the future. Best wishes, Katie

“Pleasantly situated chalet”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2012

Suitably for 2 adults and 1 child. Clean, comfortable and well stocked. Location - good, good walking distance to village shop. Amenities on site - good. Without a vehicle would be better to stay on camp. We weren't used to buying an electricity card so this was strange but people who use this often it wouldn't be a problem. Property felt as though needed airing when we first arrived.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and that you found the chalet clean and comfortable. Best wishes, Katie

I travelled here with family and the location near Bude was great for exploring North Cornwall and Devon. On site facilities were good, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and the choice of two bars in the evening for family entertainment, food and drinks. The chalet had everything you need for a week away and the owners were helpful and informative

Owner's reply: Hello Paul, thanks very much for taking the time to give us some feedback. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you again another time. Best wishes, Katie

“Exactly as described - good location.”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2012

Our family...Parents, daughter and grandaughter stayed in this Chalet in July 2012. Everything was as described and expected. Close to parking area so didnt have to carry luggage too far either! The site has everything a family needs for a good holiday ...quality indoor and outdoor pools...entertainment.... decent food and even 'real beer'! Nearby Bude and other beaches were not too far afield and made for good days out. The chalet was clean with plenty of decent crockery and good quality comfortable bedding etc. However outdoor table / seating would be a bonus....otherwise would be hard to beat for a UK family holiday.

Owner's reply: Thanks very much for taking the time to submit a review, Linda. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the chalet and appreciate your comments. We will be adding a picnic bench to the chalet next season and are keeping our fingers crossed that the weather stays good enough for our guests to take advantage of alfresco eating! With best wishes, Katie

“Ideally placed for sightseeing and coast”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2012

We stayed for a week in June exploring the coastline of North Cornwall and North Devon. The chalet has all the "mod cons" you could wish for including excellent radio and television reception. We were mainly walking but there are lots of adult and children's activities in the area and also at Penstowe Manor itself. Kilkhampton village is in easy walking distance with a couple of supermarkets, pubs, take-aways etc. All in all a great holiday!!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on Park 24. We are delighted that you enjoyed your week in Cornwall and Devon and hope that you'll consider staying in the chalet again when you next tour the South West! Best wishes, Katie
