Location description from owner

The Province of Munster region

Visit The Sheep's Head Way on Ireland's Atlantic coastline and you'll find an unspoilt natural landscape so beautiful it's been recognised as a European Destination of Excellence: a kind of modern Eden.

Take the renowned Sheep's Head Way walking route, cycle the peninsula or drive the Wild Atlantic Way, and at every turn you'll find stunning views across West Cork's three peninsulas, and over Bantry and Dunmanus bays.

The Sheep's Head Way runs from the tip of West Cork's unspoilt Sheep's Head peninsula to historic Bantry House and the early Christian settlement at Gougane Barra. Solitude and history are always only moments away here, but this is a place to relish the present as well as discover the past.

Whether you're walking the Sheep's Head Way, kayaking on West Cork's deep bays, learning skills from local stone carvers on the peninsula, or tasting Bantry Bay mussels, you'll find there's a richness to the quality of life in this part of Ireland that's hard to match.

Kilcrohane

Kilcrohane is quaint little sea side village near the end of the sheep's head peninsula. The village boast 2 very lively pubs and top restaurant. The area's main highlight is the access to unrivaled hill walking, coastline and of course the local people.

“Amazing weekend in west cork”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2015

Myself and my 4 friends stayed in this lovely cottage for a weekend. The owner was really helpful in booking and got back to us really quickly and the directions were really easy to follow from Cork. We were all blown away at how lovely the renovated old cottage was, with lots of original features. It was decorated so beautifully with amazing views over sheep's head and the 5 of us had plenty of space for sleeping, having dinner, etc. also there is plenty of space in the garden where we enjoyed a nice evening. The cottage is located up a small road from the village of Killcrohane. We spent one evening in the local pub and the craic was great and we were able to walk home safely afterwards. The surrounding area is really beautiful to explore during the day with great walks and amazing scenery. I just wish we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this cottage to anybody. Can't wait to go back.
