"Five star holiday experience"
A superb cottage set in a quiet lane on the outskirts of Kettlewell. Village shop two or three minute walk, another couple of minutes to village pubs, coffee shops etc.Spotlessly clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped it is ideal for taking along the grandparents as the ground floor is completely self contained but has an additional sitting room, toilet and bedrooms upstairs. Plenty of character and homely touches and lots of books, games, dvds etc. The owner is extremely helpful and obviously takes customer satisfaction very seriously. Hopefully we will return next year.

"Our new favourite place in the Yorkshire Dales"
We spent five days in February at Renar Cottage and had a wonderful time. Two days were spent with friends, one day as a couple and two more days with teenagers and Grandma. All ages enjoyed themselves and we had the best five days of weather in months (even managed a beer in the pub garden at Starbotton in the sunshine! The cottage provided everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. We all agreed that we would like to go back next year. Katrina (contact in Kettlewell) was extremely helpful with a superb knowledge of the area. It will be better when the parking space is provided but this didn't affect our enjoyment as there was plenty of street parking because of the time of year. We didn't use the cars once after we arrived as there are so many beautiful walks straight from the house. The landlord at the Blue Bell was extremely welcoming and gave my mum a free beer after she headbutted a tree!

"Home from home. Perfect!"
The attention to detail is brilliant. Janet, the owner has thought of everything and is more than willing to provide anything she may have overlooked (although I'd be surprised if you could find anything). The cottage is warm, comfortable, clean and cosy. The cottage does state it takes dogs. However they are only allowed downstairs. I think this is a great idea as for people with very young children (crawlers) it is nice to go somewhere that does not have that doggy smell and you are happy for your children to crawl around. The cottage really is spotless. The location is perfect and this is probably one of the best cottages we have stopped in in Kettlewell. Looking forward to our return in March 2013.

"Clean, comfortable and homely cottage which is lovingly cared for"
When we decided to return to Kettlewell with our parents, I had lots of requirements for a 3 bedroom cottage, and Renar really fitted the bill. There are many cottages to rent in the village, but what really set this one apart was the delightful owner Janet who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! She even helped me organise our New Year's Eve dinner at The Bluebell (one of the fabulous village pubs). The cottage provides a lovely home from home feel, with 3 excellent double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms/toilets and 2 lounges - perfect if you need a bit of time out from the rest of your party. The village shop is just a stones throw away and you'll find great walks on your doorstep. We'll definitely be back!

"A beautiful cottage!"
We had a really lovely holiday at Renar Cottage! We felt at home as soon as we entered through the front door. A clean, wonderfully decorated cottage with everything you need for a home-from-home stay! The village and pubs are a real treat and the walks are endless. The owner, Janet, is really helpful and you feel like you have known her for ages. The only slight downside is that sogs are not allowed up into the "top" sitting room which is the biggest room with the biggest TV. We put the stair gate up as requested to keep our dog downstairs but as he is not used to being away from us, we were worried he might scratch the paintwork and he cried trying to get to us. As a consequence, we spent the week downstairs in front of a tiny TV! I think maybe Janet it would be worthwhile either getting some cheap covers for the sofa upstairs so dogs can be allowed up of an evening with the family or maybe even say "no" to dogs. As a dog lover, I think that would be a sad option :( Apart from that one small inconvenience, the cottage is everything you could ever wish for!

"A wondeful cosy cottage, homely with a luxurious feel. Fantastic place!!"
I stayed at Renar Cottage with two of my sisters and my Mum with her Jack Russell! The cottage is absolutely beautiful and completely spotless! The owners have thought of everything and there are lots of lovely personal touches, we instantly felt at home. The wood burning fires are soooo cosy and we couldn't bring ourselves to even walk down to the local pub in the evening and opted to stay in and relax! The parking was a bit of a problem as we were only alllowed to park near the cottage to unload, we did find somewhere to park at the bottom of the hill outside the youth hostel but most places have no parking signs outside, there is a pay and display car park in Kettlewell. You really need a car if you stay in Kettlewell as although it's beautiful there is very little in the village, make sure you take everything you need if arriving after 5.30 as the village store closes. Most of the time we had no mobile phone signal, Vodafone seemed to have the strongest signal and that was weak. I would certainly recommend staying at Renar Cottage and if you have kids there are games and dvds to occupy them. We were extremely impressed! A very high standard of accomodation!
