Description

Our family run holiday cottage situated in the popular lakeland town of Keswick is ideal for exploring the delights of the Lake District. The house is within walking distance to the main high street with a diverse selection of restaurants, pubs and bakeries to choose from. There is also a great selection of shops from specialized walking and climbing to old fashion sweet shops. Meander through the town and you will reach the shores of Derwent Water where you can take a cruise, hire your own rowing boat or just seat and appreciate the views of the lakeland fells.

Our cosy bungalow boasts views of the fells of Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra and has a generous plot with large private driveway. The garage is also handy for storing bikes or even the car. The house benefits from a large garden, great for the children and large patio areas which are ideal for taking in a warm summers afternoon. FREE WIFI is now available.

The house comprises of two bedrooms- a double with feature metal frame bed and radio alarm clock and a large twin with views to the hills and a great DAB radio. The modern fitted kitchen with all you need to prepare your own meals and spend less time tidying with our dishwasher. The recently refurbished bathroom benefits from a bath and shower and smart white bathroom suite. The lounge provides seating for four and has an electric flame effect fire, perfect for a cuddling up in front of the 42 inch Led tv and DVD player. The dining table for four is also situated in the lounge. Gas, central heating and double glazing throughout means the house is great all year round.

“Great location with parking”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2018

Spacious bungalow with parking. Well equipped with comfy beds, large tv & WiFi. Short flattish walk into the centre for large selection of cosy pubs & shops. Good base to explore the lakes & fells.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to review Ferndale we really appreciate it. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

“Comfortable ,well situated bungalow.”

Reviewed 2 Apr 2017

A small bungalow but with everything you would need. It was very warm with excellent central heating and a powerful fire. Very near the centre of Keswick and there was a fishshop and a grocer 2 minutes walk away. The BT wi-fi worked very well.Would stay there again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to review Ferndale, we really appreciate it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and made use of the Fish Shop. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Perfectly placed, comfortable bungalow”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2017

we enjoyed a great week over Christmas this year. A very comfortable, home from home, bungalow. Not far from centre of Keswick but quiet and off street parking a big plus. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Towels really were fluffy! And everything clean and lots of kitchen equipment. Coffee and tea and biscuits were certainly appreciated. would happily return

Owner's reply: Thank you you for taking the time to review Ferndale, we really appreciate it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and felt nice and comfortable. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Autumn Break”

Comfortable accommodation, great location for easy access to the town, buses and walks. Welcome pack of tea/milk/biscuits was a very nice touch. Secure space in lockable garage great for anyone with bikes etc.

Owner's reply: Thank you you for taking the time to review Ferndale, we really appreciate it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Excellent”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

A perfect holiday property; very convenient, comfortable, clean and a quiet location, just a 10 minute stroll into Keswick town centre and 5 minutes to Fitz park, perfect!

Owner's reply: Thank you very much for the kind words and we are glad you found the bungalow so convenient. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

“Excellent Location, good facilities”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2013

I stayed here over Easter with my wife and two kids. It's located very close to the towncentre of Keswick and park which has a play area for the children. The main bedroom has plently of room and the kitchen has enough room and utensiles to cook. The garage is handy for storage of bikes. Wifi and clothes washing facilities would be nice, but not essential.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the feedback we are in the process of improving the cottage and hope that you will visit again soon. WIFI is a great idea, so maybe later on in the year we will think about putting it in. We were also thinking about putting a washer machine in instead of the dishwasher as we have limited space. We hope that you visit again.
