“Location, Location, Location”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2016

We've just got back from a week at this property. As others have said the best thing about it is the location - it is literally a two minute walk into town where there is a huge choice of pubs and restaurants and shops to wander around. The property is quite tired, it could do with a lick of paint and the carpet changing on the landing areas. It could do with the owner sleeping a night here, and he might notice what is missing, as there was no bin in the kitchen, the knobs were missing from some of the units in the kitchen with just bare nails hanging out, which my daughter hurt herself on. The dryer doesn't work and the oven door is broken, there are no hooks anywhere to hang coats on, no mirrors in any of the bedrooms and there were no bath mats in the bathrooms. The property probably needs about £150 spending on it to make it an excellent property to rent rather than a good one. We also didn't see the key holder, which wasn't a problem, but it might have been nice for him to come and tell us where stuff was such as heating controls, how to use the oven etc. We did arrange to meet him when we got there, but he didn't turn up.

“Home away from Home”

Reviewed 13 Dec 2011

I stayed at this lovely house in May this year with my 2 toddlers, partner and the in laws. Its hard to get away on holiday with a 1 and 2 year old and actually go somewhere which is as easy to be as home. On arrival the lovely Miriam set up a couple of travelcots for my little ones and the house was already warm, despite our late arrival. We stayed for a week and so we made great use of the kitchen, cooking at home as well as enjoying some fantastic lunches and evenings out in Kenmare. The atmosphere of this little is fantastic and this really feels like ireland. Particularly loved Crowleys bar for old irish charm with impromtu music performances, and Foleys for a nice lunch, child friendly but grown up. Guiness and beef pie amazing. We would definately return. we also had a little peek into the apartment next door - more like a small house actually, spread over 3 small floors. this would make a cool getaway for a larger group or a family who perhaps wanted slightly seperate accommodation for the grandparents, or teenagers maybe. Fab holiday :)
