“Winter get away”
We stayed at the market place hideaway for a weekend .We had a few problems finding the shopping centre but eventually in the end we managed to park up make are way to the cottage. When we got there we were pleasantly surprised it was beautiful it was well equipped everything was there that we needed . The owner lyn made sure we had a lovely cup off tea avaliable when he where unpacked and settled there was even milk in the Fridge It's was a lovely weekend and there attention to detail goes above and beyond we will definelty return .once you have parked up it's really easy to get to the cottage through the shopping centre this place is a hidden gem and well worth a visit it's absolutely spotless really comfortable and cosy and close to lots off eating places pubs .its a great base for the lakes .
Absolutely lovely - literally thought of everything you could possibly need. Cosy warm, right in the centre of town yet so very quiet and peaceful. Great shops for food just minutes walk away and some recommended places to eat that were just delicious - all around the corner. We parked in a car park near McDonalds for £15 for a 3 day pass that can be used throughout the Lakes - which if you're from anywhere slightly southern to Manchester - that's a BARGAIN! Loved the cottage and the ease of the experience - just make sure you turn the light on before you step outside at night - there's a step and if you will insist on drinking and stepping out under the influence you may find yourself at the Local AnE like I did - all my fault however that also rates high on my scale as Hospitals go... friendly staff and a very low waiting time! So even though I spent the rest of my trip on crutches and hobbled around the place we had a lovely few days away and would recommend Lynns cottage to anyone!
Perfect cottage containing everything needed for a stay in the Lake District. Perfectly positioned in the heart of Kendal. A short walk from the station but tucked away in a very quiet spot.
This was a lovely cottage, a lot of thought and time has gone into making it clean and cosy. Everything you needed and more to make the stay Comfortable. The welcome package which included biscuits, mint cake, tea and milk etc was appreciated after travelling all day. Ideal location for getting around the lakes and a couple of nice bars and restaurants around the town for at night. Even though the cottage was in the town centre, there was no noise, lovely and quiet at night.
“Wonderful little cottage hideaway”
A lovely cottage in an ideal location. We travelled to Kendal by train and the cottage is an easy 10 minute walk from the station. It is also easy to get around on busses and trains. The very helpful tourist information is around the corner. Although the cottage is in the centre of Kendal it is very quiet and peaceful. The cottage has everything you would need for a short stay. The milk, biscuits and tea on arrival were very welcome.
All though we got of to a bad start.Couldnt find cottage.no and. Name wore away.Found the dining area downstairs a problem.but as we only had breakfast we ate in kitchen.Very comfortable and the box of goodies extremely welcome..Good location to get to other part of lakes as a tourist not a walker.y
Owner's reply: Thanks for the review Jean we have ordered a new name plate for the Cottage had not realised how the other had faded . Hope to see you again in the future Regards Lynn
“Amazing find, with thoughtful touches”
Lovely cottage, great location, with so many thoughtful touches that made us feel at home - such as milk in the fridge, and a selection of teas and coffees and mint cake. The kitchen was well equipped, and the rooms tastefully decorated. All very clean and tidy.
“Great cottage in great location”
Really nice cottage right in the heart of Kendal All the information provided by the owner was spot on, amenities to hand and especially helpful was knowing about the different parking available in town when we arrived. The cottage was warm, modern and very comfortable, a real home-from-home. It was nice to see the owners had gone to so much effort to make the property so nice. Well equipped kitchen and the welcome pack was nice - providing coffees & tea and fresh milk too. Just a couple of comments for you - one would be that if we had 4 people staying there would not have been enough seats in the lounge, wifi is always good to have and also some people might like to know that the stairs are rather steep which might be a problem for young children or older people but not a problem for us, we loved it, would recommend it to friends and would stay here again when coming for a short break in the lakes.
Owner's reply: Thank you for the comments we shall look into providing more seating , and are looking into providing wifi . Thanks again Lynn
“lovely cottage-great location”
tucked away in the corner of the market square, very quiet despite being in the middle of the town. Well equipped kitchen and two refurbished bedrooms. will come back
“Hidden Gem Tucked Away In Kendal”
The Market Place Hideaway is a beautifully presented, recently converted and cosy home. The shops, cafes, restaurants & River Kent are literally on the doorstep to enjoy and it's easy to pop back for lunch or a little break to put your feet up in between adventures. We'll definitely be back to stay - thank you!!
