“Perfection!”
I booked the cottage as a valentines surprise for my partner. The cottage is beautiful and perfect in its contemporary yet cosy cottage feel. Everything was thought of, from a glass jar of candles to everything needed for the fire. Christine had left wine, beers, biscuits and milk, the extras that made us feel very welcome. We can’t wait to go back, thank you so much!
Owner's reply: So pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hearing from you in the future.
“Kendal cottage”
The property is well located within walking distance of Kendal town centre with sufficient parking using the visitors parking permit provided by the owners. This provides a perfect base for local walks or short drives to the lakes. It was very clean, tidy and well equipped with everything needed for our short stay and with central heating and a log burner (logs and kindling all provided) we kept ourselves nice and cosy when staying indoors. Kendal itself has lots of good shops, pubs and cafes which we enjoyed strolling around and frequenting. There is also a castle (ruins) up a steep climb which we spent time exploring and enjoyed taking in the lovely views of the surrounding area. A most enjoyable stay, thank you.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
“Perfection is a fickle creature.”
We always look for somewhere within walking distance of town and Greenside is just about perfect (5 minutes walk). The cottage is a two-up, two-down (with attached "outhouse" with loo and washing machine) so in comparison to our home is "bijoux" shall we say. However, with bijoux comes cosy and luckily we don't have a cat lol. Christine has thought of almost everything one could ever want and need; so full-marks there. The road gives a bit of noise during bed-time but it shouldn't be a problem if you're used to light traffic. The lakes are on your doorstep so we had a lovely four day break. We recommend Rydal Hall, Rydal water (caves included), Skelwith Bridge <-> Elterwater, The Tarns (Tarn Hows) for leisurely walking and I went to Blea Tarn and Wast Water - not for the faint hearted regarding the drive over Wrynose and Hard Knott passes but well worth the angst for the scenery. In summary, the cottage is ideal for a home-from-home stay, very clean and Christine provides welcoming touches too - 9/10! We would stay again and recommend it to couples.
Owner's reply: I am glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hearing from you in the future. Best wishes
“Perfect cottage for a Lake District trip”
Firstly, Christine was very helpful in arranging everything for our stay and always responded to emails quickly which is always want you want when trying to arrange holidays. Secondly, the cottage itself is great!! Decorated tastefully with everything you could need, small touches that were well thought of and appreciated by us. Kitchen is fully equipped to cook meals, fire was lovely on our rainy evenings and the location was great. Walking in to Kendal is super easy and quick and the town had plenty of places to eat and drink. Christine recommended a restaurant called New Moon for my partners birthday and it was great! Third and final point is on the location for accessing the Lake District (Windermere and Grasmere were the two we went to) tourist spots was perfect, nice short and scenic drive. Couldn't fault a thing with our stay here! Thank you very much to a great host.
Owner's reply: Thank you for you feedback, I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you found the location ideal. I was glad to have been of help in organising your stay. Many thanks
“A lovely, cosy holiday cottage in the lakes.”
We had a lovely 3 days here. As soon as we walked through the door We felt welcome with wine and real ales (which my partner loved) on the tablefor us to enjoy. The cottage has a real homely feel and it was great to put on the log fire after getting back from a rainy walk. This was our second stay here I would recommend a visit.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely comments I am so glad you enjoyed your second stay at the cottage and hope to hear from you again in the future. Best wishes
“Well presented”
Lovely cottage in picturesque surrounding area. Stayed here for a week- I could not think of anything that could be improved. The cottage was well presented-cosy but the little extras were nicely thought of. Thank you Christine- We had the best of the weather. What luck?
Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the weather was an added bonus which as much as I would like to take credit for, I can't. Best wishes
“Beautiful relaxing cottage for a weekend getaway”
I stayed at the cottage with my partner and we had a lovely time. The central location in Kendal was great and had the benefit of on street parking. The directions we'd been given were fine and we were soon parked up and entering the key code in the key safe. The cottage is a perfect size for a couple and was really cosy. We tend to look for places to stay with wood burning stoves and it was nice to see that there was a selection of logs and fire lighting equipment available. The front room had a nice sofa and an arm chair and a small TV with a selection of DVD's to go with it. I thought that was a nice touch. The kitchen was also great and had a little breakfast table to sit and eat at. There was plenty of pots and pans to cook with and we were left wanting nothing. There is a Booths supermarket a short walk down the hill so you can easily pop out and stock up without having to drive anywhere. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely too. Comfortable, clean and cosy. Couldn't fault any of it and altogether our stay was perfect. If I was going back to Kendall then I'd rent the cottage again. Highly recommended.
Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to give us such a positive review and we would love to welcome you back if you are visiting the area in the future. Best wishes Christine and Dave

“Best holiday rental we have ever had”
Marvellous cottage well equipped for comfortable break. Owner had thought of everything you would need to make your stay hassle free. Well located near to an excellent local pub (The Rifleman') where we received a warm welcome and sampled some fine real ale and wine. Property is also only a short walk to Kendal town centre where the Brewery art centre is an entertainment centre offering live music and cinema. Kendal is also well located for some lovely walks.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and the cottage and Kendal provided you with everything you needed. Please do not hesitate to contact us in the future if you visit the area again.
