The Perth and Kinross region

Perthshire has some of the most stunning scenery in the UK and is a haven for those who love the outdoors. Whether you are looking for an action packed activities holiday or walking and cycling at a more leisurely pace, Highland Perthshire has it all. Similarly if you are looking for history, culture and tourist attractions they are all on offer in this area. From distilleries to castles, art galleries to museums and theatre to shopping there is a vast variety to choose from. Its central location within Scotland also makes the area an ideal base for touring the wider countryside and coast lines as well as the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

Situated about five miles from the little Highland Perthshire town of Aberfeldy, on the B846 to Tummel Bridge and Kinloch Rannoch, Mo Dachaidh is surrounded by stunning mountain views and dramatic scenery. The pretty conservation village of Fortingall, with its thatched cottages and hotel restaurant and bar, is about three miles away. Just a few minutes walk from the house, don't miss a visit to "The Iron Fairy", for a quirky look at the eclectic display of amazing metal sculptures and artwork and a couple of miles further on is the pretty village of Fortingall with a number of pretty thatched cottages, a great hotel and purportedly he oldest living (yew) tree in Europe! Just through Fortinglall is the road up Glen Lyon, the longest and possible most spectacular glen in Scotland - and enjoy a great cup of tea and delicious afternoon tea and the Bridge of Balgie Post Office and Tearoom.

Loch Tay and the charming 16th century conservation village of Kenmore is a five minute drive and boasts an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and shops including The Courtyard Deli. This popular village has a safe, sandy beach and offers many sporting activities including two golf courses, water sports, horse riding and cycling and the very interesting Crannog Centre.

The small town of Aberfeldy is only 10 miles away and has a full range of shops, banks, medical centre, garage for fuel and servicing, dentist, Post Office and the new Breadalbane Community Campus which houses a library, indoor swimming pool, gym, climbing wall and many other great facilities.
