Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Eighteen hundred square miles, from rolling hills & moorland, gentle valleys, rich agricultural plains, to rocky coastline with secluded coves and picturesque fishing villages.

The hills of the Cheviots, the Lammermuirs, the Moorfoots and the Pentlands together with the River Tweed and its tribituaries embrace and dissect the Border countryside to create different worlds, each with its own unique personality.

The Scottish Borders is not just an area of outstanding natural beauty. A colourful and turbulent history has shaped Borders life over the centuries, instilling a local pride and passion in all who live here. Castles, abbeys and stately homes all have their tale to tell of the part they played in Scottish history. Museums give a more local view of Borders life, while the native culture of song, drama and dance fills theatres alongside works by international companies.

Kelso

Valley View cottage is situated in the conservation area of Morebattle, just 7 miles from Kelso and provides a truly excellent all year round holiday destination. Overlooking the Cheviot Hills, the area is a walking paradise throughout the year, either through the hills, or as a central point along the spectacular St Cuthbert's Way.

Also on the doorstep are the Tweed and Teviot Rivers, providing world class Salmon and Trout fishing in beautiful surroundings.
This part of the Borders is also very popular for horse riding and mountain biking as well as those who enjoy enjoy game shoots, deer stalking and golf.

And of course, the Borders is steeped in history with close access to the abbeys, castles and stately homes which proliferate in this lovely part of Scotland.
