“Excellent holiday Cottage”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2014

The Old Smithy is a superb holiday cottage. As it is all on one level, it is ideal for less abled people. The kitchen is very well equipped, the sitting room is large and has deep leather sofas, the bedrooms are spacious and have lovely comfortable beds It is in a pleasant setting with a stream at the bottom of the garden. The village of Ednam is only two miles from the town of Kelso (Bus stop is just across the road) and is a perfect base for visiting other border towns.

Thank you for your lovely review, and we hope to see you back again soon, kind regards, Susan

“Luxury!!”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2014

Myself, my husband, our two young children and my mother and father stayed at The Old Smithy in August and had a fantastic time. It is an ideal location for getting out and about in Scotland. I couldn't recommend it enough! It's kept very clean and has clearly been refurbished to a high standard. It has everything you need, we found ourselves staying in for more evening meals than going out as it was such a nice place to be. The kitchen area is lovely and big and clean and the lounge area is so comfortable. Our children have already asked if we can go back!!

Thank you for your kind review and we are pleased that you loved our cottage and it lived up to your expectations in our luxury accommodation, we look forward to your return. Thank you, Susan

“Excellent location and property”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

The property is next to a small river in a small village but is also only a 5 minute drive from Kelso and Sainsburys. The cottage is lovely with everything you could need. The living space is particularly impressive with high ceilings and high end kitchen equipment. Would definitely recommend staying here.

“Comfortable cottage, convenient for Scottish Borders”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

A clean, tidy, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a pleasant situation with a stream and bridge at the bottom of the garden. It is central for visiting stately homes, abbeys and gardens in the Scottish Borders and conveniently close to Kelso with shops and a large supermarket.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on our property and we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thanks once again

we have family links to kelso , so have visited the borders on many occasions .we have only just found the old smithy on the internet .we found it to be very spacious and comfortable, also very convienient for all the local historical attractions, and within easy driving distance of the coast and edinburgh .we would happily stay here again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others

“Excellent experience”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

This cottage has been converted and finished to a very high standard. It is bright, spacious and comfortable in all aspects. The location is very near to Kelso (a small town with very few "chain" shops) yet enjoys the quietness of the countryside. There are many interesting places to visit and is within half an hour's drive of the Border Abbeys and other small towns. The coast is about forty minutes away. We would have no hesitation in returning to the cottage or recommending it to friends.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our cottage, we hope to see you back again sometime. Kind regards
