There are good local restaurants and Pubs nearby. Historically the area is very rich and Kells is our local town, 5km away. Here you have St Columcille's Monastery and the famous Book of Kells. Loughcrew with its Passage Graves and Standing Stones, dating from 3,000Bc is 8km and makes for a wonderful walk. Newgrange and the Hill of Tara are also in the area.

Golf can be enjoyed at Headfort, Virginia and Delvin, while horseracing takes place at Navan, Fairyhouse and Kilbeggan. Fishing is available on the R. Blackwater and Boyne, and also on the many Lakes large and small, in the area.

“great location for kells and monastery visits”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

be advised that dogs have obviously been allowed in this rental. so if that is your preference, and you want a helpful, gracious hostess, this could be a great place for you-if you need to bring your pet(s). Bohemian is the word i would use for the accommodations, for there are no walls upstairs between the bathroom and sleeping areas, just a big shelving unit, cleverly placed. The owner Susan was, and is absolutely wonderful, the farm is working, in many ways. Bob, her horse is a delight.

Thanks Paul.
