A Grade ll listed property, The Manse is a spacious 2 storey cottage with a small front garden and rear paved patio which enjoys glorious views of the Dales. It's decorated and equipped to a high standard and has both under-floor and radiator central heating and two open fires making it a warm, cosy and comfortable home. Originally built as a minister's residence, the accommodation consists of a lounge, dining room, 3 bedrooms, a kitchen / breakfast room, bathroom, downstairs WC. The lounge, with open fire, is the perfect place to relax after a day outdoors exploring the dales. At the rear of the Manse is the working kitchen and well equipped prep kitchen / breakfast room with windows overlooking the community orchard and open countryside beyond. With its flagged floor and traditional range the breakfast room is a lovely place to start the day. The cottage has many original features including beamed ceilings, stone flagged floors, window seats and fireplaces making the Manse an idyllic dales retreat but with all modern conveniences including WiFi internet coverage and Freeview Television and DVD. There is parking for two cars and secure cycle storage adjacent to the cottage. Keld is a tiny hamlet nestled at the very top of Swaledale. The surrounding scenery is simply stunning with many walks straight from the cottage door. Keld lies on the crossroad of two popular long distance walks; the Coast to Coast and Pennine Way and is a walker's paradise. Local walks take in farmland, limestone crags, woodland, beautiful old dales farm walls and buildings, and much evidence of the once-thriving lead mining industry. Keld is a quiet, peaceful place but boasts a tearoom, a small hotel (Keld Lodge) with excellent restaurant and an small information centre (Keld Countryside & Heritage Centre) where you can pick up leaflets and find out more about the village and surrounding area, both past and present.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Helen - Graham (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
