The sight and sound of dramatic crashing surf greet you from every room of this luxury, 3 bedroom/2 bathroom Hawaiian prviate home on 1/2 landscaped acre with your own swimming pool and hot tub by the sea. This is Hale Mar, and you'll love it.

The best of everything, from gourmet kitchen and full laundry room to high threadcount linens and free wireless internet is provided for your pleasure at Hale Mar, or "House of the Sea." Located just 15 miles from the Hilo (ITO) airport, and 30 minutes from the dramatic Volcano National Park, Hale Mar is a gorgeous retreat which and a safe base from which to explore the wonders of Hawaii, or just cocoon and meditate in privacy under the stars.

Great nearby attractions include giant snorkeling tide pools; geothermally heated snorkeling pools, black sand beaches frequented by huge sea turtles, and rainforests and waterfalls for exotic hiking. Take field trips to the Tsunami Museum, Seahorse Farm, and Volcano Winery, as well as macadamia nut, coffee, papaya and orchid farms. You will find opportunities for golf and horseback riding over the verdant hills overlooking the ocean, as well as unique experiences like stargazing at Mauna Kea and walking over live lava at Volcano National Park; and every day, enjoying the soft breezes that spell "aloha."

Hale Mar features a huge Master Bedroom Suite with king-sized platform bed, private oceanfront balcony, ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet, and TV area; plus two additional bedrooms and a home office with a sleeper sofa. Overall, Hale Mar can sleep up to 7 adults in a typical configuration.

Located in the upscale Hawaiian Paradise Park district of large single family homes separated by acres of tropical forest, you'll be surrounded by quiet beauty, yet within a short drive of many grocery stores, restaurants and a variety of shops.

SPECIAL VOLCANO UPDATE: don't be frightened off by the sensationalist news reports: the lava flows are actually affecting a very tiny portion of the island, and the rest of Hawaii is not in danger at all.
