Description from owner

Luxury 3 bedroom Villa in Livathos with fabulous views to the front across the sea over to the neighbouring island of Zakynthos, along with the dramatic Mount Aenos as its impressive backdrop.

Located on the outskirts of the charming village of Karavados, the Villa is very modern, fully air conditioned with a private pool. Within a few minutes’ drive lies a superb selection of beautiful sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas.

The ground floor provides spacious open plan living accommodation with comfortable lounge and dining area along with a fully equipped modern kitchen. There is a downstairs loo and patio doors lead out to a ground floor balcony at the front and the private pool and sun area at the rear. A marble staircase leads to the first floor, where the three bedrooms are situated. The Master bedroom has a double bed, sea and mountain views and is ensuite with a bath/shower and feature porthole window. A second bathroom has a shower and bedrooms two and three have twin beds. All three bedrooms have their own balcony. There is a sofabed in the main living area downstairs, which allows the Villa to sleep up to eight people.

Perfect for either relaxing or sightseeing: you can elect to chill out around the pool at the Villa or there are watersports facilities at nearby Lourdas beach. Makris Gialos, only 20 minutes’ drive away, is a busy beach in the resort of Lassi and has a full range of watersports facilities such as waterskiing, windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, etc. The Villa is a short driving distance away from a number of beautiful sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas.

The Villa's private swimming pool measures 8m x 4m and is 1.2m at shallow end and 1.7m at deep end. The pool and sun area to the rear of the property is finished in Albanian stone, as is the driveway, where there is ample parking for at least two vehicles. Six sunbeds and three poolside tables are available together with three large parasols, a garden table and 6 chairs. A traditional Greek barbeque is also fitted outside. There is a lawned area to the front and side of the Villa, which is walled and gated. The garden benefits from external lighting.

Places to visit on Kefalonia: The Villa is a great base to explore the island's many attractions, such as the nearby St Georges Castle, where the views over the South West coat and Argostoli bay are simply stunning.

Sami is a picturesgue port on the East coast and the nearby Drogarati Caves are stalagmatic caves thought to be 150 million years old.

Melissani Lake is an underground cave with a lake and when the midday sun hits the turquoise-blue waters, it creates a magical illusion filling the cave with blue light.

Assos is a tiny village on the North-West coast built on a small peninsula dominated by the ruins of a 16th century Venetian castle and is not too far from Myrtos beach, one of the most photographed beaches in the world.

Fiskardo is another picturesque fishing village on the North coast and is one of the few villages not to be destroyed in the earthquake of 1953.

St Gerassimos' (the island's patron saint) Monastery is at the heart of the island and the interior is decorated with breathtaking murals.

“Fabulous Luxury Villa in Karavados”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2015

This is our second stay in this wonderful property, we last stayed here six years ago and it is as nice now as it was then. The villa is clean and exceptionally well maintained. Everything is taken care of and there are many thoughtful touches. The villa is spacious and cool thanks to the air conditioning. The pool area is fantastic and we used the barbecue on a couple of the nights when we weren't eating out in the wonderful local restaurants that were recommended by the owners. You will need a car to get to the beach, restaurants and shops which are around 15 minutes away as Karavados is a little village set on the hillside. Highly recommended for a relaxing family holiday.

“Lovely holiday villa”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2014

A great booking experience as the owners were prompt and reliable. The villa was well maintained and had all amenities you could require when on holidays. Garden and pool were well looked after and very pleasant to spend time in. We took two small children aged 3 & 6 and this villa was safe and secure for them to play, with no steep steps or staircases as we have experienced in other properties. Towels were changed regularly and a linen change half way through the holiday along with a refresh of the bathrooms was carried out with the minimum of intrusion. Its well situated for visits to several local beaches and a short drive from some lovely tavernas, although there is a taverna within walking distance. The views are impressive and several night were spent sitting on the veranda, sipping wine and watching the sunset after a BBQ! One small thing that could be changed to improve the villa would be door catches to hold the french doors open. It was quite windy when we stayed and we enjoy turning the air con off and opening the doors. Without placing chairs to hold them open they would slam closed. Other than that it was perfect and a great holiday was had by all!

“Wonderful Villa on a beautiful island!”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2014

Villa Marbirini is very well equipped and more than comfortable with all the amenities you need and then some. The villa was very clean when we arrived and the welcome pack was truly welcomed! The pool is very welcoming and we used it daily. The outside area is large and the views all around, of Mount Enos and Zante, are lovely. Having the wifi was appreciated by adults and our teenage sons alike! Kefalonia is a beautiful island and Villa Marbirini is an excellent base from which to explore it. There are recommendations of tavernas, beaches and places to visit in the villa which helped us to make good choices! We would highly recommend this villa!
