A stone fireplace is one of the focal points of the living room, but the real eye-catching feature is the stunning view across the gardens to the sea.

Front veranda: This vast area has columns and a tiled roof which creates an outside living space.

Bordered with various herbs and perfumed shrubs this is a perfect external seating area - shaded in

the day and sheltered in the evenings. A feature arch in the end wall gives glimpses of the side garden and there are sun-blinds to protect the area from the Cretan breezes.

Kitchen: the large kitchen is completely separate but located conveniently next to the dining area.

Fully fitted floor and wall cupboards in dark blue paneled wood and fitted with stainless steel

appliances & integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher the room is a well organized "U" with views from the sink to the sea. A glazed door opens onto a large breakfast terrace which offers access to the gardens and has magnificent mountain views.

Bedroom 1: this is a good sized double room currently set out with two twin beds and a built-in cupboard. Patio doors provide access to the side terrace which is sheltered from the sun by a tiled pergola.

Shower room: A shower-room tiled in pale jade green and cream with hand-basin and WC in classic white completes the ground floor.

Staircase: A classic sweeping marble staircase with decorative wrought iron banisters leads to the

first floor hallway.

Bathroom: a spacious bathroom with extra large bath is located to the left of the stairs. Fittings again are white ceramic and the tiles are two toned jade.

Bedrooms 2 & 3: Both 1st floor bedrooms are good sized doubles with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes in

light beech-wood. Both also have stunning sea and mountain views and have access to the first floor

breakfast terrace.

Basement: From the living room an internal staircase leads to the basement where there

is a washing machine.

External: The property is totally enclosed with wrought iron gates for both access points in the

attractive boundary stone wall. Elsewhere walls and fencing define the boundaries

Garden and terraces: The gardens are fully landscaped with mature shrubs plus productive fruit and olive trees. The outside living areas include shaded seating terrace set in the trees, large side terrace half of which has a tiled pergola and the huge covered veranda to the front of the house which looks out across the pool to Souda Bay.

Pool: the tiled and graduated private pool (9x4 swim area) is surrounded by plentiful sun terraces and is bordered by a fragrant herb garden.

Location description from owner

The Chania Prefecture region

Kokkino Chorio (or "Red Village") is a village situated in the Chania regional unit of Crete, Greece.
It was the filming location of the 1964 film Zorba the Greek starring Anthony Quinn, Alan Bates, Irene Papas and many locals.
The village also plays host to a tunnel complex which was used in World War II by the Nazis as an artillery spotting position.

In 2006 a memorial to those killed during world war two was constructed at the entrance to the tunnels.
Access is possible, but it is unlit.
Kokkino Chorio has three churches: St. George's which is located at the entrance of the cave and used on St. George's Day (April 23); St Katherines in the village which is used on November 25.
The main church, used weekly and at other times during Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas is St. Haralambos and is located in the village square.
Kokkino Chorio is located near Plaka, Almiryda, Gavlahori, Kalyves and Kambia.

There is also a Glass blowing factory in the village with an embryo taverna attached.
Above Kokkino Horio one can see the strangely shaped hill Drapanokefala or Calapodha (so named during the Venetian occupation).
The coastline northwest of the village is an extremely interesting place for a stroll due to the ground formation and the caves, such as the cave of Petsi (or Karavotopos).
Another cave called Katalimata, located at the centre of the village, is also an interesting site.

Plaka is located 25 km from main Chania city and is a part of Vamos Municipality in Apokoronas region. Plaka is built in 68m above sea and offers a fantatic view to Souda bay and Akrotiri peninsula on the north west. In terms of view Plaka is one of the few areas that combine sea views and mountain views as you also have views to the White mountains.

The closest beach is in Almyrida which is about 1.5 km away from Plaka main square. Guests of Plaka can find all basic amenities such as mini markets, cafe amd tavernas; all located in the main square of the villas next to the local church.

Plaka is between Almyrida and Kokkino Chorio. All of these areas have permanent residents all around the year. The last 2-6 years Plaka and surrounded areas has been an atttraction for foreigners who wanted to buy a home or spend their holidays. In the summer time, local people and visitors create a great place to spend your time.

Kambia

Villa Delfini is located between the traditional villages of Kambia and Kokkino Chorio (or the Red Village) which was used in the famous “Zorba the Greek” film starring Anthony Quinn. The house is within easy walking distance from a well stocked mini market and the local tavernas.
More shops, restaurants and cafes are within 5 minutes drive at Plaka and Almerida. Sandy beaches at Almerida and Kalives are minutes away. It is in an ideal location for generally exploring the picturesque villages of the Apokoronas and the surrounding area
