“Beautiful Spacious and Well Furnished Villa”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2015

This was our 7th visit to Kalkan but our first stay at Villa Guzel. We have stayed in various other locations around town and although one or two of these were a little closer to the town this lovely villa ticked all the boxes for us. The villa is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything you need and probably more! There is ample storage space and plenty of outdoor living space as well. There are 3 large bedrooms each with their own shower room and all of which are roughly the same size so ideal for friends or couples sharing. The beds were very comfortable. There was a daily maid service which is unusual in villas and they made the beds and washed up for us even though we had a dishwasher. The outside area is the highlight of this villa with so many different seating and eating areas to choose from and 2 BBQ’s, all in sun or shade and with plenty of parasols available. The pool is one of the largest we’ve seen in a villa with a lovely shallow area with seating around it. The main pool however is quite deep so families would need to be aware of this. The views from the terraces and balconies are lovely, overlooking Kalkan bay. We spent many happy mornings on the easy chairs and sofa chilling with our morning coffee. Len was very helpful with arrangements before we arrived and booked our transfers for us. He was full of helpful advice and tips, even when we had a rare wet day/evening advising where we might eat and be sheltered. He genuinely cares that his guests have a good holiday and contacted us on more than one occasion while we were staying to make sure we were comfortable in his villa and were having a good time. There are 2 large supermarkets within a 10 minute downhill walk of the apartment. We tended to favour Migros which is the closest and we were able to get most things there, although Yali's just down the road has more selection. The walk back uphill was good morning exercise! We walked down into Kalkan and the harbour several times and it took about 20 minutes, we never attempted the walk back up as taxis are very easy to get and very reasonably priced. Although we have stayed in different places for each of our previous visits to Kalkan, Villa Guzel is now our firm favourite and we will definitely stay here again when we next return to Kalkan. In the meantime we have a lot of very happy memories of a lovely, peaceful, relaxing week in excellent accommodation. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Good Morning . Only just come across your wonderful Review. Thank you very much. Regards Len

“Amazing!!!”

Absolutely loved villa guzel and Kalkan. The views from the villa are fabulous and the two balconies both look over the mountains and harbour. Villa is a short walk into old town Kalkan and the harbour, but taxis are also very cheap so we used them when feeling lazy! The villa is well managed locally with regular cleaning. We loved our daily visit to check everything was ok - it always was. The pool is a great size and nice a cool (June time). Lots of facilities in the villa and found the owners wonderful to deal with - they made everything so easy and even emailed us whilst we were there to check we were having fun. Kalkan itself is beautiful. Lots of bars and restaurants - we are in love and already planning a return visit next year. Thanks again Anne and Len - we'll definitely be back!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your Review. Your first visit and we are so pleased you loved it so much that you have already booked for next year. We find most of our guests visit us again.

“Gorgeous as ever”

Beautiful villa and gardens. Large pool. Daily maid and pool/handyman service. Excellent local management provision with pre-arranged airport transfer through owner. Highly recommended, our 4th visit. Easy to contact owner who is very helpful.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your Review. You are One of our regulars now. Pleased you love Villa Guzel as much as we do.

“Top quality villa - fabulous pool”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2014

Attractive well equipped villa with excellent layout - two staircases, air-con etc. The pool is very large for a 3 bed villa ( we queried if it was shared - its not) and lots of seating, parasols shaded outdoor eating area etc. We had a car and felt it would have been hard without one as its on the side of a steep hill. Kalkan has huge choice of excellent restaurants and shops. Its touristy but in a good (upmarket) way.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review

“Wonderful relaxing break in Kalkan at the beautiful Villa Guzel.”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2012

We have been Kalkan Regulars for a few years now. We love the relaxed vibe of the town. It's great restaurants, excellent bars and selection of shops. This time we stayed at Villa Guzel. It is certainly super comfy but also brilliantly located for the most spectacular views across the bay. We can't recommend enough and will certainly aim to return next year.

Owner's reply: I do apologise for not thanking you earlier for your Review on TripAdvisor. Len

“Wonderful Again!”

Reviewed 18 Oct 2012

We stayed in Villa Guzel in 2010 & just had to return as we loved it so much. Such a lovely villa & location . We love the extension of the patio including the BBQ & new shaded seating area & the minor additions, the WIFI Internet & the iced / hot water unit & the fact the hot water could be isolated as our 2 year old daughter loves switches. We were surprised how many of the restaurant staff remembered us & the food is still amazing but we found had increased in price, but of course so had the exchange rate to our benefit. We keep telling our friends how wonderful Kalkan is, but perhaps we should keep it our secret. We looked up your Availability Chart for 2013 & was not surprised to see how many booking you already have. We will return.

Owner's reply: I do apologise for not thanking you earlier for your lovely Review on TripAdvisor. Look forward to you visiting us again. Len

“Lovely villa in good location”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

Villa Guzel looks good in the listing and lives up to expectations. The pool and outside areas are of a really good size especially for Kalkan, not overlooked and really quite private. There are a couple of nice shaded areas for eating or reading. The pool is a really good size with wide steps in. The bedrooms are also really large and each has it's own bathroom which is really essential when travelling with teenage daughters as we did. The upstairs master double has a huge balcony with barbecue and table and chairs for six, which we did not use but would be fantastic for a night in. It's a really steep downhill walk into Kalkan, a taxi back is pretty essential and costs about 12 lira or so. There is an excellent little restaurant called Our Home just down the road, it serves really reasonable meals and does a take away service too. Ideal for your first day when you've not yet made it to the shop. Overall we had a lovely week at Villa Guzel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your Review We are pleased it lived up to your expectations.

“Perfect Vacation Rental”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2012

I have rented many properties in Turkey - both in Cesme and Bodrum. I have not been to this part of Turkey before and will definitely be back. The property was both comfortable on the inside and luxurious outside. The pool area was amazing. And the location felt very private - which is not how my other rentals were. The house has everything you could possibly need. The bedroom I stayed in (on the second floor) had this lovely balconey where you could sit and have your morning coffee. The bedrooms are big and the beds are comfortable. Every bedroom has their own bathroom. It is about a five minute drive into the town of Kalkan - where there are many fine restaurants. Look on trip advisor to find restaurant reviews - try a rooftop terrace that overlooks the sea. When the sun is going down - it is just gorgeous. Kalkan is a very friendly town. The shopkeepers are delightful. There is a beach club that is attached to a hotel (I just can't remember the name) that you can rent a sun bed and go swimming. We ate there several times and the food is very good. If you are worried about the language - everyone speaks English. This was a wonderful holiday - the house exceeded my expectations and the area was just beautiful. There is also sailing and boat trips for a very good price. Kas is a very nice place to visit as well. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

Owner's reply: Thank You for such a nice review.

“fantastic”

Reviewed 14 Dec 2011

Our holiday set off easy the way Len organised the transfers etc. The villa is quite beutiful and in a great location, superb views across the bay and only a short walk from Kalkan but far enough away to be peaceful. We loved the large terraceand eating alfresco under the pergola and shaded seating area with BBQ. The swimmng pool is quite large, great for swimming.Tthe agent was helpful and the pool man and maids were friendly and kept the villa very clean and tidy. Kalkan is a lovely holiday resort we liked the roof top restaurants and the harbour side with attractive bars. the food is very good and the Turkish wine surprisingly good.We shall be back !!!

Owner's reply: Pleased that you enjoyed Kalkan & Villa Guzel & will be returning. We take much satisfaction that most guests say " We will be back ".

“Quality!!! Enough said really”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2011

This vacation was probably the easiest to set up we have every booked. Len's assistance and advice were 2nd to none. I think he covered all the bases and this made for a relaxed stress free stay. The villa was excellent and what a superb view especially from the balcony. Kalkan is a lovely town with very friendly folk and the beauty of it is is that it's free from over commercialization. The food is superb, I would recommend Trio's, great service and the staff are excellent. I would highly recommend staying at this villa. We intend to again in the very near future.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the Compliment I try my best & give honest answers to any questions. Trios is also our favourite restaurant on the harbour but we & our guest list theirs. Thank you for the Review.
