“Kalkan is fabulous - we would love to come back again”
The Villa was spacious and had an authentic Turkish feel about it. The pool was great and the Villa was quite private. It was a 20 minute walk down into Kalkan though a taxi back as it is a steep incline. Kalkan itself was fabulous with excellent food and great service. Things to recommend are the Turkish night at Hotel Likya and a spa session at Hotel Oasis. Saklikent Gorge was the best day trip however a trip to the hand made Turkish carpet factory was fascinating - so fascinating I bought one!
“great villa and pool”
lovely villa with fantastic pool and terrace area. the villa is very spacious and provides everything you need for a great holiday. only negative is the access roads which are yet to be concreted so are heavy going.
Owner's reply: I would like to update anyone that is considering booking Moonlight Villa and are concerned about driving on the access roads that of June 2013 these roads have now been finished.
“Villa and Kalkan exceeded our expectations”
Beautifully presented villa, spacious and well equiped with a decent sized pool. Unlike many villas in Kalkan it was quite private. Loads to do in and around Kalkan for our three boys (10, 12 and 14). Gorgeous sunny weather with a cooling coastal breeze meant it wasn't unbearable even in August. Booking and transfers all went smoothly, Our fourth visit to Turkey and we can thoroughly recommend Kalkan and Moonlight villa. Thank you Nicola.
Owner's reply: Many thanks for your great review.
“Lovely modern villa with pool and views close to friendly town and beaches.”
We spent a very relaxing week at Moonlight Villa. Everything we needed was there and Memet (who visits daily to clean the pool) was charming and helpful at all times. The pool is perfect and there is lots of sunbathing space and shade. The villa is close to other villas and is on the unmade road but this is reflected in the price. It was boiling so we were glad of our car for popping into town as even though it is probably only a 15min walk it would be hard work on the way back up in the heat. There are loads of restaurants in Kalkan and the food shopping is very good. The Turks are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There are plenty of excursions you can do if you are not too hot. We enjoyed visitng the ruins of Xanthos and Letoon and going up into the hills for dinner in Islamar. Kalkan has a fun market on Thursdays where you can buy clothing, jewellry, spices and fruit and veg.We also loved Kaputas beach. All in all we would definitely return for a relaxing, sun bathing week but maybe not in July!
Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review. We have been thinking about changing the jacuzzi bath for a full shower enclosure as it can be a little awkward getting in and out of the bath, but quite a few people like it and this is the first time it has been mentioned. Glad you enjoyed the villa overall.
“Perfect”
We stayed at Moonlight for two weeks in June with our two year old boy and had a lovely time. The villa is in good condition and the sun terrace and pool area are just right. The pool was warm with 3 umbrellas and an outside eating area we had plenty of options both in and out of the sun. It's handy to have the pool, terrace, lounge, kitchen on the same level unlike some other properties you see in Kalkan which are terraced. You can walk to Kalkan town through a short cut directly below the villa, it's steep, but a good option to walk into town in the evening and take a taxi (12tlr) back to the Villa after dinner. We hired a car via the owners and all went well, pick up and drop of at Dalaman airport. Other villa renters in the area tended to go for taxi's but our preference was to have our own transport with our 2 year old in tow. We haven't stayed put so much on a holiday in years - all credit to the Villa - but did get out to the local beaches which are a car ride away, and well worth it.There are a number of local supermarkets near by with butchers and green grocers in the town. Bring some DVDs if you have kids, wifi worked great and the local rep was friendly. We'll be back.
Owner's reply: Thank you very much for the very good review.
“This has been the best villa out of the six we have stayed in so far in Turkey”
Fantastic villa to stay in. Well equipped, comfortable and fairly close to the town centre. As with most of the other villas in Kalkan, the ten minute walk to town can be a little strenuous. Fine on the way there as its all down hill but the return can be challenging on hot summer days. Lots of taxis though so this need not be a problem. We were surprised and pleased that the villa was equipped with wifi and a docking station for iPhone/iPod. This was brilliant for music and keeping in touch. Other entertainment included extensive DVDs and flat acreenTV for if you want to watch films. The villa was immaculately presented and unobtrusively attended by the local English speaking agent who was only a phone call away at any time in the event of any problems. The very private pool area is spacious even with six loungers and parasols set up. Shaded outdoor dining is perfect, so too is the master bedroom balcony Also, the furnished roof terrace area with lovely views over the town and bay is a great place to watch the sun go down with a cocktail at the end of a busy day relaxing. Review based on couple with two twenty something daughters staying for ten nights.
Owner's reply: Thank you so much for a really great review please come back at any time.
“Moonlight Villa great location for relaxation.”
Beautifull Villa, wonderful location, excellent staff. We would highly recomend this villa to anybody for a relaxing break. Kalkan has everything that you will need so there is no need to travel if you just want to recharge your batteries. Many thanks to Irfan and to Karen for thier help whilst we where in Turkey and also to Nicola for hiring her lovely villa to us. We are looking at the possibility of returning next year for longer break.
“The perfect place to unwind”
My wife and I stayed in Moonlight Villa for a week at the end of June 2011. The Villa is beautiful; spacious, nicely decorated, comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything you could possibly need is provided as well as a nice ‘welcome pack’ of goodies in the fridge. The outside area is very private and provides a covered seating area, a large patio area with sun beds and a fantastic swimming pool which we used every day. The pool and outside areas were cleaned every day and always felt fresh and welcoming. The villa is located up a quite steep hill which we walked down and back up once, but then we cheated and used the hire car for the rest of the trips into town. Most of the people in surrounding villas used taxis which are abundant and cheap. Kalkan itself is a slice of paradise; a very laid back atmosphere. The town has an amazing selection of restaurants to choose from and we had some superb food and very friendly service. A visit to the Thursday market is a must to soak up the atmosphere and practice your bartering skills. There are many companies providing a range of activities such as visits to historic sites, boat trips and water sports. We did not try any of these activities this time but we plan to return next year and be more active. Overall we had a very relaxing and peaceful holiday in this wonderful villa and we did not want to leave at the end of the week!
“Fantastic Villa”
This was a brilliant holiday the service from the start was first class we went with our family which included a baby of 1 1/2 years so there were plenty of questions all dealt with well. The villa was everything we needed which included a huge collection of books and DVD’s mostly adults (we did take peppa pig etc which was a good idea) The pool was Fab and cleaned twice a day by a great pool man. The villa is situated halfway up a long steep walk (very hot in Aug) but there is a lovely bar half way up called 'Our Home' which does wonderful authentic Turkish food and they will deliver if required, but the whole family are very hospitable and welcoming, we used to walk it down to the town about 15 mins and taxi back. But you also get the advantage of a wonderful peaceful view, I couldn't recommend the villa enough as we had a great stay.
Owner's reply: Hi Mike Thank you so much for the lovely review, we try very hard to maintain a good standard for our guests. Now I have a grandchild I now know the importance of having some children's DVD's so I will get some in.
