The Turkish Mediterranean Coast region

Kalkan is situated on the Turquoise coast between the towns of Fethiye and Kas. Nestled in a bay at the foot of the Taurus Mountains the area affords spectacular sea and mountain views. There are many areas of historical and geographical interest within a short driving distance. Patara, Xanthos, Thios, Myra and Saklikent gorge, approx. 1 hour away.

Kalkan

Kalkan’s centre (approx. 15-20 minutes walk away) is a little maze of cobbled streets and bougainvillea covered houses and shops. Kalkan is sleepy during the day. Wander about, shop or just sit back with a cold beer and watch the world go by. At night Kalkan comes alive as people come down to the centre to dine at one of the many excellent restaurants, many have roof terraces with superb views of the bay. After dinner you can relax at one of the bars. Kalkan has a bank with a cash point, post office, supermarkets, the usual array of shops selling jewellery, carpets, shoes/handbags, clothes, ceramics, paintings and of course Turkish delight. There are also doctor’s surgeries, pharmacies and a dentist, but lets hope these are not needed.

Boat trips can be arranged on our boat, either private or shared. A day out at sea with a wonderful BBQ lunch with as much swimming, snorkelling or fishing as you like. A moon light tour can also be arranged, dinner at sea, magic. Diving courses are available for those more adventures. Canoeing is also available.

“Absolutely fabulous villa, with everything you could possibly need.”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2016

Tas Villa exceeded all expectations from the very start of our holiday. The space and luxury of the house was certainly a "wow" moment. We each settled into our rooms and began the wind down into relaxation. Having arrived in the dark, our first morning of amazing sunshine and rising temperatures, put even bigger smiles on all our faces. Throughout the time we had in Kalkan, Tas Villa, provided the perfect place to start and finish the day. Tracy was the most accommodating host. Even before we arrived Tracy sorted all of our numerous changes to travel arrangements and transfers without fuss. The information the Tracy gave us in our first morning was immensely helpful. All our trips were organised and taxis were booked by Tracy within minutes of asking. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything in Kalkan can be arranged using WhatsApp including taxis and food deliveries and the WiFi in the villa means no need to pay roaming charges for mobile phones. We will return to Tas Villa in the future and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for a lovely review. It was a pleasure to help you all relax and enjoy your time here in Kalkan and that the villa more than exceeded expectations for the whole family. Hope to see you back again one day.

“Absolutely fab - everything you could possibly need”

Reviewed 30 May 2015

Tas Villa and its owner Tracy made this holiday the best one I've had with children! Understandably travelling and holidaying with 3 small children (ages 5, 2 & 9 months) will involve a certain amount of stress and I was concerned whether the villa was kitted out appropriately. I needn't have worried - Tracy has everything you could need for children and babies from cots, changing mats, rockers, high chairs to life vests and inflatables for the pool. When we landed in Turkey my buggy had been manhandled and no longer worked. Tracy had not just one, but two buggies at the villa - which was a lifesaver to being out and about. Aside from being child friendly, the villa has everything you could possibly need when you're away from home. There is also lots of space and areas for seating. Even with a large party, you could find yourself a space. There are loads of bathrooms and the hand showers are great to rinse off the kids. The pool is fab and the baby pool perfect for little ones. We loved the fruit trees and used the lemons in our cola. We had glorious weather but if it had been bad, there is a massive stash of DVDs, books, games, table tennis etc. Generally, if you're looking for something at the villa (iron, Hoover, toaster, pegs etc) - you'll find it if you search long enough! It's all there - seek and ye shall find! The villa is situated in the hills but it's not a problem - it gives you fabulous views and great sunshine and also a degree of privacy due to its location. It's easy to get back from town and if you're not up to the hill - a taxi is cheap enough. There is a shop only 2 minutes walk away for any basics. Tracy went above and beyond to make our stay special and comfortable. She immediately dealt with any problems and was very friendly, approachable and contactable. On a slightly different note, I am a practising Muslim woman and wanted to stay somewhere where I could let my hair down. Even though the villa wasn't completely secluded - Tracy made every effort to make it as private as possible by adding extra screening and speaking to the pool men to avoid times when we would be about. And that was more than enough for me to be able to relax comfortably. Tracy's welcome pack was very handy and she was kind enough to replace the alcohol with soft drinks. Again, extremely thoughtful and kind. Overall, our holiday in Kalkan was so lovely, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tas villa, and its owner Tracy to anyone. Thank you so much Tracy. I wouldn't be surprised if we came back!

Glad that TAS VILLA had everything to help make your holiday with all the children fun and stress free and that you found everything you needed there. Happy that the extra screening put up enabled you to relax more as well. We always hard prune the garden over the winter so in the later months of the summer the garden is far more bushy and abundant. Hope to see you back one day.

“A wonderful find in a beautiful town”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2013

We had a lovely weeks holiday in this beautifull villa overlooking Kalkan. Tracy has thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. The welcome pack was very much appreciated after a delayed flight. The pool very refreshing and most evenings began and ended on the delightful rooftop terrace putting the world to rights. We wanted and needed R&R and this villa in this beautiful town of Kalkan certainly did that for us. The Turkish people were very hospitable and very friendly .we will defiantly be back to explore the surrounding area next time.

The roof terrace is just fab at sunset with a cold beer or 2! Happy you spent time enjoying everything the villa had for you. I hope the R&R you got while here is still with you now and that we will see you back again one day.

“Wonderful Villa, Great Location and excellent Host: Tracy”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

I travelled with a great friend and her two teenage boys and my two teenage girls and son (12). The Villa is large and spacious with a good sized kitchen. It was beautifully clean and maintained. The outside area was great for all of us. Comfortable sun beds, great pool and the children’s pool worked perfectly for sitting in and reading. Small things like a water cooler in the kitchen made a difference and removed the need to continually buy large quantities of water, a phone call and 10 mins later 60l of water was delivered! The villa is 15 minute walk down steep hill to the town but it is not an un comfortable walk and a very easy taxi journey back. The town is small and relaxed with just enough shops and restaurants to keep everyone happy. There are no real clubs or party venues which suited us all well - even the teenagers who wanted a quiet holiday! Tracy our host was fabulous, arranging excursions to suit our requirements and organising our boat trip with Ali which was great. Overall, this is one of the easiest holidays I have ever had with so many children/teenagers.

So happy you had a good relaxing time and enjoy the villa. Looking forward to seeing you back again next month, you'll see a few changes and some new things in the villa, which I hope you like.

“As close to perfect as you will ever get.”

Had a wonderful two weeks at Tas villa, impossible to fault wish it was mine. Every thing there that you could possibly need, everything is really easy to understand, it really is a home from home, Tracey is great and always at the end of the phone if needed. Kalkan is a lovely place and very frienly and eating out is a real pleasure.

Delighted you had a great holiday at Tas Villa and hope to see you all back again one day in the future.
