Description

Welcome! First things first: our guests agree that the view from my condominium's lanai is truly exceptional. It's the reason I bought this place on Maui's Kaanapali (Ka'anapali) Beach over 20 years ago and never looked back.

We're perched high on top of The Whaler Condominiums—on the 10th floor of 12—far above the bustle of the beach. From the lanai (or porch), take in the sparkling sea and vast beckoning beach in front of you, the lush green mountain range and golf course to your left, and the island of Lanai and the old whaling port of Lahaina in the distance. This Kaanapali Beach Vacation Rental opens views rarely seen elsewhere!

Guests tell me they spend hours on the lanai relaxing in our chairs just watching the changing light, from sunrise to sunset. Visualize yourself basking in the warmth of the sun and taking in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Look up and see the mountains bathed in orange and the island of Lanai draped in low-hanging clouds. Look down and see a tremendous splash breaking the glassy surface of the sea: a majestic  humpback whale, breaching close to shore.

Later that evening, take advantage of an ideal romantic setting and share a Hawaiian pupu (an appetizer plate of local goodies like tempura vegetables and skewers of chicken and fish) on your lanai, and watch the lights of the old Lahaina whaling port glimmer in the distance as the sun sinks into the Pacific. This is paradise--and one example of what awaits you at Whaler 1063.

Our studio condo with king-sized bed is intimate, comfortable, and has everything you need close at hand, including kitchen supplies and a collection of beach goodies like lounge chairs, a beach umbrella, and a picnic cooler.

We also provide a television and DVD player, a Bose CD Player with a small collection of CD's, very fast wireless Internet, an étagère with Hawaiian artifacts and a small library of books. The kitchen and bathroom are recently remodeled.

The Whaler, where our Hawaiian home is housed, is nestled between the west Maui mountains and the ocean and provides many resort-style amenities for an active couple, including:

And, for adventurers ready to explore, there are dozens of options nearby, including some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving on Maui, helicopter tours, golf courses, ferry, bicycle trips down Haleakala, horseback riding in the upcountry, a winery, luaus, the Ulalena evening theater show, and moonlight dinner cruises leaving from Kaanapali (Ka'anapali) Beach. You won't want to leave.

Many of my guests are repeat guests—some of them came here first for their honeymoon and now return year after year for their anniversaries. That says something special about their experiences at my condo, and I think you'll agree.

Getting around

Many guests do not have a rental car as everything you need is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. Moreover, the Whaler concierge can arrange any number of trips for you to view the many interesting sites throughout Maui.

Interaction with guest

Upon arriving at the Whaler you will check in at the front desk where you will get a parking sticker, pool towel cards and key cards for access to my condominium. Thereafter, you will park your car, take the elevator to the 10th floor of the south building, enter my condominium, get use to your new home and step out on the lanai (porch) to see the spectacular view. At that point you will be starting to enjoy your vacation! Hint: many of my guests then go next door to the Hula Grill or Leilani's to get a bite to eat and look at the beautiful scenery!

House rules

Whaler 1063 is a studio condominium suitable for no more than 2 guests. The minimum stay is 3 days. However, these days must 'bump up" against longer stays on each side. For example, if my condominium is booked until November 4 and the next guest arrives on November 7 then I will accept a booking for those 3 in between days.
