Very Good

“Almost perfect place to stay”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2014

The house has a good spec kitchen, utility room and bathrooms. Everything worked well and very clean. The kitchen with range style cooker and Freezer/Fridge with ice dispenser was excellent. There is a washing machine and dryer was very useful. The internet was reliable and fast. The room had high ceilings and there was lots of space for our family of four. Location is 2-3minutes to a number of restaurants and a nice castle. There is bakery and supermarket in the town. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The only con was the size of beds, on the small size for us. Other than that the place was perfect.

“What a Gem”

Reviewed 14 Jun 2013

We booked this last minute without doing too much research and were well pleased with our findings. The property has just had a thorough makeover and was finished to a very high standard. It was extremely spacious and very well equipped with everything recently new. We stayed there in May when, surprisingly, it was very cold. We were concerned that we too would have been cold however this was not the case as the heating worked efficiently and the wood burner made the downstairs very cosy indeed, something we had not considered when booking. The furnishings are typically French which gives the gite a homely feel. For us the property could not have been better located. We were 2 minutes walk from the town square with it's bars and good restaurants. Two minutes in the opposite direction takes you to the park which is certainly worth a visit and/or an evening walk. Also, do climb the steps of the church tower (again, two minutes from the property) for magnificent views of the area. However the icing on the cake for us were the fresh crossaints every morning from the bakery near the park. The one thing that did concern us initially was where we should park our car as the property does not have its' own parking and long term parking is not permitted in the road outside. However, enquiries led us to a free car park 100 yards away next to the park so this was not a problem. We had a great time in Josselin and the gite made it home from home making us feek like a local. We hope to return again either later this year or early next year to explore the many attractions of this part of Brittany and hopefully cycle parts of the nearby canal.

“Wonderful House, beautiful town amazing holiday!”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2013

Our first trip to Brittany was so wonderful. We couldn't have picked a more excellent location and were very happy to find this gorgeous house right in the centre of Josselin. It felt like a dream home, right next door to the castle and we had so much fun exploring the lovely restaurants and bars (Bar Creperie Du Centre was our favourite!!!) Coming home to the warmth of the log burners and finishing each day with a glass of fine wine, plenty of chat and laughter at the lovely dining table and the best nights sleep ever in those lovely charming rooms. What a treat!!! Will be back for many years to come. Have decided to spend a lot more time exploring Brittany now we have such a wonderful place to stay!
