“Comfortable condo right on the waterfront ideal location for exploring”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2017

Jolly Harbour is a nice comfortable location on Antigua and the beach is right on your doorstep with beautiful soft sandy beaches and shallow waters. Recently visited with my wife and son for an 11 night stay. Sunbeds are no problem and there is a range of eateries in the local Commercial Centre about a 10 min walk away or 4 mins by golf buggy (cost is US$25 per day!). Marina is very nice and quiet - sadly for us probably as at end of season a little too quiet so lacking a little atmosphere in some places, but that is not the owners fault. The Condo is very comfortable and well equipped with cable TV and 2 large bedrooms with full kitchen and a decking area leading direct to one finger of the waterways leading to the marina. Judy S was terrific with organisation and information and the only reason I have not given it 4 stars is that despite it having all the home comforts, it is a little tired in terms of decoration and could do with some tidying up in places. Antigua is not a cheap destination particularly with the GBP/USD x-rate at present but is a beautiful island and we are glad we visited but in hindsight at this time of year probably 7 days is long enough.

“Tropical home from home”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2015

We were delayed at the airport sorting out a car rental and so were late arriving at our villa but we're greeted with a warm Antiguan welcome. have stayed at Jolly Harbour twice before this, so was already knowledgable of the resort, the last time being 1997. A lot had changed with more restaurants, a large supermarket and home store and a welcoming beach bar. This particular villa was clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed to ensure our three week vacation was trouble free. The en-suite facilities and downstairs toilet was well received by the extended family of 4 adults and one child. The property was complemented by a large sun deck which was big enough to accommodate 5 sun loungers and a garden table. The barbecue provided was used but after finding the restaurants didn't get much of a look in. The only maintenance issue was resolved with immediate effect and we given support during the impending hurricane cum tropical storm. My family are from Antigua and we normally stay around Dickensons Bay, but I was pleasantly reminded just how lovely the beach was and calm the Caribbean Sea was at Jolly Beach, apprieciated by my "learning to swim" 8 year old son (who also loved the playground) I'd stay there over all inclusive anytime.

“great place”

We had a lovely time in villa 230b.very clean well equipped kitchen and a nice deck, and very close to the beach.

“Charming villa with an amazing deck on the water and very short walk to the beach.”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2015

Our family met at the Villa for Christmas and had a wonderful stay. The villa accommodated us very well and we enjoyed having a full kitchen and BBQ grill on the deck. It made for a very relaxing stay. The beach was a very short walk away and had a selection of two places to get food and drinks there if you wanted. The beach was beautiful, warm water, and not crowded. All the locals were very friendly. The best part was you felt very safe. My son left his stuff on the beach one evening and the next morning it was still there placed neatly on a chair! That never happens in Mexico. Having the pool was also a nice option although we didn't use it much. I recommend renting the golf cart. Even though the grocery store is in walking distance you need to get bottled water which is heavy to carry. The golf cart is only good for Jolly Harbor so we rented a car for part of the time and it was nice seeing the island however the driving can be a little stressful with such narrow streets. In the future we plan to just take a cab to the other parts of the island. We took a cab to Sting Ray City and it was great and not too expensive. Overall was a great vacation and we plan to return!
