Jimena de la Frontera

Beyond the town, the mountains of the Alcornocales Natural Park unfold into the distance. The Park is famous for its untouched habitat, abundance of wild flowers and many species of birds. You can walk into the park from the Cortijo (farm) or drive west through the mountains and into its heart. Driving north you join the famous Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos (White Towns Route) passing through many of the scenic, hilltop Frontera (frontier) villages with their castles. The location of the Cortijo makes it ideal for day trips to Seville, Cadiz, Jerez, Ronda or across the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco. Both the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts are less than an hour's drive south of the Cortijo. There you can find a wide variety of water sports and other activities as well as beautiful quiet coves and bays. You will have the choice of over twenty-five golf courses, various aqua parks and other theme parks. And, within and hour's drive, you will find a wide selection of restaurants, night life and the renowned shopping facilities of Marbella, Soto Grande and the Costa del Sol
