“Lovely Large Villa”

Reviewed 8 May 2013

We booked this villa on recommendation from friends who had stayed previously and we were certainly not disappointed! The first thing you notice is the scale of the property and it takes a good bit of time to explore every hidden corner. I think the property is best described as a traditional Spanish villa with a lot of character. We travelled with a group of friends to celebrate two birthdays and I can honestly say that I will cherish the memories from this holiday forever! The pool area is fantastic and we spent a large portion of our stay here eating BBQ lunches with sangria in hand. A mention must also be made about the spacious first floor conservatory that we were equally at home relaxing in, early morning with a cup of tea as we were returning in the evening for a night cap. Casa Corina is well located and only a short walk from the beach and local amenities of which there are plenty. Highly recommend a daily walk to Aranal beach which is large, well maintained and no more than a 15 minute walk away. You will find a fantastic selection restaurants along this sea front serving everything from traditional tapas to French cuisine. We are planning a return visit to the villa next year for a reunion and I would recommend anyone looking for a traditional Spanish stay to consider Casa Corina

“A very traditional Spanish Villa, GREAT PLACE TO STAY....”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2013

I've put the date of my last visit to Javea as June 2011 of which is very true, although over the last 25+ years I have stayed @ Casa Corina on a very regular basis, @ least every other year! I stayed @ Casa Corina with a large group of friends on the last visit and we spent an awful lot of time @ the Villa, we cooked Breakfast as well as enjoyed tapas in the afternoons, we prepared and cooked barbecues around the poolside patio area and really enjoyed our own Villa Party atmosphere. This Villa has a very funky vibe to it, which once settled in you can feel very much @ home. Over the last few years the Owners have spent some considerable expense in bringing this outstanding property up to current day holiday expectations! When I was last there we regularly used the relatively new Air Conditioners and found they were a god send, and used properly kept the Villa at a comfortable temperature, when outside it was extremely hot and humid! All bedrooms are comfortable and light and airy. I've certainly never had any experience of bad smells or damp although you expect a little Spanish tang as being in a foreign country that is sometimes the case. I would recommend anyone young or old to experience staying @ this Villa as in my opinion it's just great, I've had many a good time and will be planning going back very soon..

“Needs modernising, if it didn't have a pool, we would have got up and left”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2012

When we fist walked through the door, the smell of damp and sewers hit us. We had to make a quick trip to the local supermarket for bleach and air freshners. The smell of the sewers in one of the en-suite bathrooms never subsided the whole 2 weeks, meaning we had to leave the window open permanently. The advert on the web site boasted that air con had recently been fitted. Unfortunately, due to the very old and poor wiring, if you try and run the (small) 3 units all at the same time, the main breaker trips. After 2 or 3 times of this, we could smell burning, and were forced to run only 2 units at a time. Beds and furniture are possibly as old as this house, maybe 30 years old. I don't know how old the mattreses or pillows are. Throws over the sofa hide the worn out seating and cushions. Pool was in good order, and was really the saviour of the holiday. We spent most of the time here. Although the lighting around the pool area is not sufficient once the sun has gone down. We were told cleaners had been in the day before, but my guess is the property had stood empty for at least a week, due to the rotten garbage we found in the dustbins. To be fair, the villa was as advertised, for example, it did have a TV - although this does not work. It did have AC recently fitted - although you cannot run all 3 together. If a small amount of money had been spent looking after and upgrading the villa, this could be the perfect getaway. As it is now, it's smelly, old and damp. Location is ideal, if I considered ever going back, I would stay in the same area - just not in this villa.
