Welcome to Blachford Hall - This former Mission Hall built in 1905 was new to the holiday letting market in the Summer of 2014, and has been furnished and designed to provide you with the feeling of a relaxing stay in a boutique hotel. The Hall is equipped with soft linen, luxurious bedding and fabulously designed furniture whilst at the same time allowing you the comforts necessary to feel completely at ease and relaxed, in a way that only a self catering property can do.
Blachford Hall is situated in the original part of Ivybridge, just metres away from the 13th Century ivy covered bridge from where the town gains its name. Recently redecorated and newly available as a holiday let, this property is brimming with extensive period features and character, including stone walls, original timber beams, doors, stained glass windows and a welcoming wood burner. Amongst the period features you will still benefit from all the modern requirements necessary for a self catering break, such as the wifi connection, the wet room and a fully fitted kitchen with all appliances. A stunning reception room with high ceilings exposing the original beams of the former chapel, and a mezzanine floor, mean that everyone has room to relax. There are two bedrooms sleeping 4 in comfort, and a travel cot can be provided upon request. Light-filled, full of charm and very welcoming, this house really is a must for those looking for something special nestled on the Southern reaches of Dartmoor, whilst only a short drive from the beaches of the South Hams and the towns of Dartmouth & Salcombe. The town's enviable position means it's the Gateway to both the Moors and the beautiful South Hams countryside.
Located at the top of the town opposite a church the house looks towards Western Beacon. Being situated in the original village of Ivybridge, the hall has the feel of a village location yet combined with the convenience of being just a short stroll from the small and easily accessible Devonshire riverside town of Ivybridge. The town has a host of privately run shops, so with the bakers, butchers, delicatessen, green grocer and fish monger (not to mention the 6 public houses in Ivybridge) all within walking distance, you have everything on hand if you don't wish to drive.
Blachford Hall is the ideal location for anyone looking to explore all that South Devon has to offer. With the rugged climbs of Dartmoor to the North, The South Hams beaches to the South and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter both within easy travelling distance, this property really does offer something for everyone.

The Devon region
As a unique holiday experience in Devon, Blachford Hall is in an enviable position nestled between Dartmoor to the North & the beautiful South Hams Countryside and beaches to the South, including the historic resorts of Salcombe, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, and the many beautiful villages of Dartmoor. The coastal path and many local beaches and coves are nearby, and the two Moors Way runs through Ivybridge itself. Have a look at our “Out & About” section on our website for extensive details on all that the local area has to offer, where to go and what to eat over a wide area of Devon. Cornwall is an easy journey, with the likes of the historic fishing ports of Looe and Polperro being under an hour away. From walking to kayaking, from wild swimming to relaxing, from pubs to fine dining, from crabbing to river fishing, from beaches to spas, from gardens to golf, from sailing to ferries, we hope to give you so much to do that you'll never find the time to fit everything in.
Ivybridge is steeped in history and the hall plays it's own little role in this. The self catering aspect of the accommodation is made easy by being part of the thriving community of Ivybridge with shops, restaurants, cafes, a swimming pool, library and much more. Blachford hall is only 600m from the main high street shops. Mentioned in documents as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge's early history is marked by its status as an important crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century mills were built using the River Erme's power. The A38 makes access to the Hall very easy, with access to and from London achievable in under 4 hours.

"Not your normal rental accommodation"
A beautifully restored former mission in a nice area. The accommodation is excellently fitted out throughout with good quality equipment from the kitchen through to the bedrooms - no more worrying about bending a knife when chopping an onion! Dawn and Quinton who manage this place are really helpful and are always just a text away. A great place to stay I would thoroughly recommend it.
Thank you for your honest review, and we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The hall is really well equipped throughout (including the knives!) and we're always here to help you make the most of your holiday. Thank you again, Moor to Sea Holidays.
