Domaine de Pemontier sits on the top of a hill in a quiet location just outside the medieval village of Issigeac in the beautiful Dordogne. It consists of 2 gites. Le Pigeonnier has 2 double bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge and houses 4 people comfortably. La Vieille Grange has 4 double bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, kitchen and lounge. Both gites have their own private patios and share the 13 x 6 metre pool.

Set on top of a small hill overlooking the hamlet of St Cernin de Labarde and surrounded by wonderful vineyards we are ideally positioned to provide a fantastic launchpad from which to explore the area and make the most of your holiday time.The warm summer days and long summer evenings are fantastic for relaxing in or getting involved in more energetic pursuits. There are reputed to over 1000 chateau in the Dordogne region for you to explore, or you can hire canoes and kayaks to explore the river. All the villages have their weekly market where you can buy locally produced produce and embrace the full French experience. In the evening many villages hold 'marché nocturne', evening markets where you can eat freshly cooked, locally produced foods in surrounded by the ancient architecture of the region.Throughout the summer there are frequent festivals and events celebrating significant events (such as the end of the 100 years war) or just to celebrate the completion of the harvest.

Issigeac

The medieval village of Issigeac is steeped in history and situated in the midst of the famous wine growing region of Bergerac. The village is set in the midst of wine country, close to the famous Chateau de Monbazillac and their famous sweet dessert wines. There are many other independent wineries surrounding the area and the owners would be delighted to advise you on their favourites.

Throughout the year the village hosts a number of festivals and events and has a thriving market on Sunday mornings, where many gastronomic delights are available as well as an exceptional selection of local wines, meats, fruit and vegetables brought directly to the market by their producers.
