Set in the heart of the French countryside, high on a hill, and totally hidden behind a copse of trees, Le Petit Capelier represents all that is great about rural life in France. Located within ten minutes' drive of Issigeac (one of the most idyllic "bastide" towns in the Dordogne), and many other beautiful villages, Le Petit Capelier (old French for the little hat maker) is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding stunning countryside, whether walking, cycling or driving. The property itself is surrounded by a myriad of wildlife and a multitude of trees including many great oaks, some of which are over three hundred years old.Your comfort is of utmost importance to us: enjoy our private swimming pool, fully-equipped kitchen, free wifi internet access (restricted to 2500MB per week) comfy beds with luxurious 300-thread count linen, fluffy towels, waffle robes and slippers, lots of seating including three sofas, a large dining table that easily sits ten and most of the practical comforts of home.
The prices for each season are set for four people with the third bedroom inaccessible. Should you require the use of the third bedroom and its king size bed (and possibly a day bed making up into an extra child's bed) the price rises by £150 person per week. Please contact us for more details.

The Dordogne region
Well renowned for foie gras, Monbazillac wine, delicious locally-made cheeses and fruits and vegetables as wide in variety as one could wish for the south west corner of the Dordogne is rich in gastronomic possibilities. Every day, throughout most of the year, one can find oneself in a bustling market, filled with the treasures of the area, meandering through medieval towns swamped in history, taking in the delights of rural France.
The south-west Dordogne is filled with rolling landscapes and beautiful views at every turn. A little flatter than the centre and east Dordogne the landscapes are wider and less forest dominated but equally beautiful with flowing streams and rivers, sunflower fields filled with colour from June to September and a myriad of wildlife incluing the much-loved hoopoe, jays, buzzards and various other birds of prey.
Begerac, the nearest large town, is a cultured centre of life with superb restaurants and shopping available throughout the old, ancient town centre to the more modern facilities to the east.
The area is home to many chateaus including Bridoire, Monbazillac and Biron all of which have stunning architecture and fascinating history. Further along the Dordogne to the east within an hour's drive you'll find castles, monasteries and chateaus perched high above the river commanding tremendous views of the surrounding forest and countryside.
Le Petit Capelier has information regarding all of the above in the form of a guide and we also provide a dedicated website describing the services and sites we as a family have found most interesting, fun or just simply useful.
