Our one & two weekly service charges are inclusive of final cleaning, bed linen, towels, heating, utilities & air-conditioning (if installed in the holiday property). Heating is EU 10.00 per person per day in low and mid season.Tea towels & beach towels are not supplied. If your booking is for more than one week, clean linen & towels will be provided on a weekly basis.
Additional Service Charge: €120 (7 days & less) & €140 (7 days plus).

Short Breaks:
3 night break - 40% off weekly tariff / 4 night break - 30% off weekly tariff / 5 night break - 20% off weekly tariff / 6 night break - 10% off weekly tariff.

Additional Facilities:
We offer a range of extra facilities, which are available for hire through our office 'Happy Holiday Homes' in Menaggio: Cot Hire - EU 20 per week, High Chair - EU 15 per week, Push Chair - EU 25 per week, Camp Bed – EU 85 per week, Wi-Fi or USB Internet Stick - EU 35 per week (includes EU 10 consumable credit). Please note that signal and connectivity is not guaranteed and may depend on the strength of the signal in your rental property.

Making a Booking:
To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our online booking form and pay a 30% deposit by wire transfer or credit card. The remaining holiday balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.

The Lake Maggiore region

Lake Maggiore:

Lake Maggiore is 54 km long, with a coastline of over 150km and at its widest is 12 km. Like all the other Northern Italian lakes it is a deep glacial basin fed by rivers; Verzasca, Giona, and Cannobino flow into the lake. Its major outlet is the Ticino which, in turn, joins the river Po just south-east of Pavia.

Piedmont and Lombardy are two major regions surrounding the Lake but the most northerly section of Lake Maggiore extends a dozen kilometres into Switzerland, the lowest point above sea-level in Switzerland.

The climate as with all these protected lakes is mild in both summer and winter, producing lush vegetation, with beautifully planted gardens in wonderful villas growing rare and exotic plants. Well-known gardens include those of the Isola Madre, Isola Bella and the Isole di Brissago, that of the Villa Taranto in Verbania, and the Alpinia botanical garden above Stresa. These lakes are almost like a lost world. They also have their monsters apparently!

Lake Maggiore Activities:

Des Iles Borromees Golf course is a T testing 18 holes lie at 500m above sea level. Following the natural terrain and the lush vegetation of the hills above Lake Maggiore. The course is more a test of accuracy than distance while the back 9 holes offer stunning views over the lake. This is a Par 72, 6122 meters. Weekdays from €42, weekends from €65

If you wish to trek over to Lake Como you can experience the famous Menaggio and Cadenabbia golf course. Originally founded by an English aristocrat in 1907, this very tight 18 hole course was completely redesigned in 1965 but still maintains a traditional British feel. It offers breathtaking views over Lake Como from its elevated position above the lakes western shore. The clubhouse features a magnificent library of golfing literature, said to be second only to that at St Andrews. This is a Par 70 of 5455 meters. Weekdays from €55, weekends from €70

Lake Maggiore offers an exceptionally wide range of water sports, from wild water rafting to sailing, wind surfing, kite surfing, canoeing and swimming.

There are a number of boat clubs (Intra, Pallanza, Omegna, Pettenasco) and a Regatta Club in Belgirate. During the summer windsurfing and catamarans are popular at the Cannobio Lido in upper reaches of Lake Maggiore. Canoeing and kayaking have become much more popular in the narrow valleys at the end of the Lake especially in the fast water zones.

Scuba diving clubs are now becoming more popular and as Lake Maggiore is up to 300m deep, there is always the chance of bumping into that monster of the deep. Check out the night diving at Cannobio

Hang gliding is also undertaken by the locals and double ups can be had for the more adventurous. Whilst you glide over and down the Lake, perhaps the less active could take a go at catching one of the famous Lake fish. A license is necessary however and there are specific rules applied....

As English speaking information is not that freely available on the more exotic of these sports, we would recommend you ask the hotel staff prior to arrival about a particular sports facility. Its all there, but an adventure finding it of course....

Lake Garda Area

Located in Ispra, guests will find an array of authentic restaurants on the doorstep as well as a lovely lakefront promenade, which is safe for families and ideal for scenic strolls. The historical village setting is truly picturesque, with noble villa gardens and ancient ruins surrounding the lakefront resort.

Closeby, the famous Monastery of Santa Caterina del Sasso is just a 13 minute drive away, whilst the popular resort of Laveno is 16 minutes drive away. From the lovely golden triangle town of Laveno, a ferry service runs to Stresa and Verbania, for a lovely opportunity to enjoy a day of sightseeing.

A holiday on Lake Maggiore offers a truly breathtaking experience; with water sports, boat trips, power boat rental and hiking to enjoy alongside swimming, golf, fine dining, botanical garden attractions, shopping, wine tasting, water parks and more!

Milan Malpensa is just 32 minutes drive away from Ispra, whilst the easy driving distance to Milan, Lugano and Como all make this a fabulous setting for enjoying both relaxed and more explorative stays in the Italian Swiss lake region.

Ispra:
Ispra is a comune and small town on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, in the province of Varese (Lombardy, northern Italy)

It is another Eastern shore ancient village with a history steeped in the feudal system and local warring facions as shown by the castle of San Cristoforo. These days it is best known for being the joint research centre of the European commission.

Today Ispra is known to be the seat of the Joint Research Centre (Euratom).This nuclear research centre has a number of nuclear reactors now being decommissioned. The purposes of Euratom are to create a specialist market for nuclear power and distribute it through the Community and to develop nuclear energy and sell surplus to non-Community States.

The population is small with about 4,500 residents. As part of the Lake Maggiore region the tourist industry is important and well served by self catering villas and apartments and is surrounded by parks.
