Description from owner

Description

Escape the stresses of modern life and get back to nature on an island where time stands still. Imagine a holiday with no cars, no telephones, no roads, just an abundance of wildlife (red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, otters, seals, eagles) and the romance of life on a private island. A model for sustainability, Shuna, a working farm, has no ugly power lines. Solar panels and a small turbine harness the power of the sun and the wind for electricity. With a boat (provided) to visit neighbouring islands and explore Shuna's hidden coves you may even catch your own fish supper!

The cozy Boat House was built lovingly by the island's owner and is the most luxurious cottage on the island with a state-of-the-art kitchen, Aga and wood-burner.

Located at the North Pier, this property is at the hub of island life, with all the comforts of a modern build, overlooking the bay, convenient for all your water based activities.

Sleeps 6 in 1 double room with ensuite bath/shower

Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Shuna lies in the heart of the biggest archipelago in the British Isles. Dozens of islands offer countless coves to explore and stunning views to enjoy. Colours change with the sea's mood in what is a paradise for boatmen, fishermen and artists alike.
Between these islands lie some of the world's most stunning tidal races.

The Gulf of Corryvreckan between Jura and Scarba, the world's third largest whirlpool, is the most famous, but the pass of the Gray Dog, just to the north, can be even more dramatic!

The islands, including Shuna, are home to European Otter and Red Deer, Roe Deer and Fallow Deer. Atlantic Grey Seals, Minke Whale, Bottlenose Dolphin, and Harbour Porpoise are regular marine visitors. Golden and White-tailed Sea Eagles scour land and sea.

Isle of Shuna-Argyll

Visit the bustling local town of Oban. Try the delicously fresh seafood or tour the whisky distillery. Take the kids or yourselves to the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary on nearby Loch Creran. Try some fly fishing on Loch Awe side. Argyll has so much to offer!
