The view from The Look Out takes a bit of beating. This country cottage gives you a bird's eye perspective of the world famous arched Iron Bridge, in the beautiful countryside of Shropshire. Nestled nicely up in the Gorge, this retreat would be ideal for a couple looking for a quiet break.
The Look Out sits just above the heart of Ironbridge, with its eateries and traditional shops. You can enjoy peace and tranquillity in countryside, surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. There are numerous walks and cycle routes with scenic views to help recharge your batteries.
Wake up in a king size bed, and a light and airy galleried bedroom with a great view. Up two steps is a spacious en-suite bathroom with a bath and attached shower. All towels are provided and complimentary toiletries and slippers are added for your comfort.
The lounge still has its original beamed ceiling – and one of the beams is an old ship's mast. There is a dining table, as well as a sofa for relaxing in the evening. And it's cosy - with electric under-floor heating throughout the downstairs rooms and an electric stove-effect heater in the fireplace.
For entertainment there is a 32" HD TV with Freeview and an XBOX 360 Games Console with a selection of games, DVD's and books. Free Wi Fi is available at the cottage.
f you wish to stay in and cook a meal, The Look Out has a fully fitted kitchen It has been recently replaced and includes a large ceramic double sink, gas hob, eye level electric oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster. washer dryer and dishwasher. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided for your arrival so that you can enjoy a drink whilst you relax after your journey and decide, from the many activities on offer, what to do first or whether to just chill outside on the south-facing private patio area.
The Ironbridge Gorge has a fantastic Park and Ride Service serving Ironbridge town centre and the museums. It is fast, efficient and eco-friendly, running every 12 minutes. It operates from March through to October. There is also an efficient and regular Gorge Connect bus service -

A small porch with coat hooks, umbrella stand and boot rack plus an outdoor area to lock your bike are also provided making it a perfect resting place for cyclists and walkers to refresh and take a few days break before continuing on your journey.

In common with the majority of properties in Ironbridge, The Look Out does not have its own private parking. It does have a drop off point so that you can drop your luggage at the door and a Visitor Pass is provided. which allows you to park for free on any of the car parks in Ironbridge. There are a number of car parks within Ironbridge itself, the nearest one to the property being a short 2 minute walk. Once you have parked up, unless you want to travel further afield, you don't really need your car as all shops and places to eat are within walking distance and there are free buses to all of the museums.

PLEASE NOTE - there are 15 outside steps to walk down leading from the garden gate to the rear door. There is a handrail. The front door entrance to the property is step free but is accessed via a slope as the cottage is situated on a hillside.

This is a great place to come with your partner if you enjoy walking. In fact The Look Out has just been awarded the Visit Britain Walkers Welcome Award. Ironbridge is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty including The Shropshire Hills, Much Wenlock with Wenlock Edge, Stiperstones, The Wrekin and many more.
Ironbridge has a wide range of places to eat ranging from traditional pubs to a Michelin recommended restaurant. Thai Fusion, a two-minute walk away, offers good quality cuisine inspired by the rustic and fresh food of Thailand. Further along the High Street, in the Old Police Station, is Pondicherry with fine Indian food. Restaurant Severn is ranked number one restaurant in Ironbridge with two AA Rosettes and a Michelin Recommendation in 2013- as well as a great view. It serves both French and British cuisine.

“Perfect Location”

Stayed in this lovely, cozy cottage during the coldest week for years. We were warm, comfortable & very central for all the attractions of Ironbridge. Gorgeous bedroom & bathroom with a lovely view. The dressing gowns, slippers & hot chocolate were very much appreciated as was the email giving further heating details if required. We enjoyed a snowy day at Blists Hill & had 2 lovely meals at the Swan Taphouse. Thank you, Howell, for our great stay & we hope to visit again soon.

“Little Gem”

Just returned from a loveley little weekend break at the cosy "Look Out" cottage. Such a beautiful place located in a very central place for shops, bar's and places to eat. On arrival there was all you needed to make a nice cuppa with some very nice biscuits to go with it. The cottage has everything you need if you a looking for a place to just relax and get away from it all. We will be coming back next year for sure .
