Description

The Foxes Den is part of a recently converted steading building set within stunning farm land in the Highlands just off the North Coast 500 tourist route. One of four properties, the cottage has been renovated and furnished to a very high standard with an open plan lounge/dining area and a modern fully equipped fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, freezer and everything you could need to make your stay comfortable. Downstairs there is a large modern bathroom with shower. On the first floor there is a double bedroom (with zip and link beds) and a twin.

The cottages stand in farm land surrounded by beautiful peaceful scenery and have their own parking, garden furniture and a shed for bikes! All bedding and towels are included, as is all power and heating. The cottage has wi-fi access.

Fishing is available in two small lochs on the owners land at no extra cost (please ask for details) and there are plenty of walks from your doorstep. Keep your eyes open in the evening and morning as the red deer gather in the fields just near the house, osprey fish in the two small lochs and otters live in the burn nearby. There are also foxes, red legged partridges, hares and ducks on the ponds.

Invergordon is about 2 miles away for shopping, and there are plenty of distilleries, golf courses, walks etc. to keep you busy and is a regular stopping off point for the cruise ships, as it boasts one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe.

Booked together with Hawthorn Cottage, Woodpeckers Nest, Juniper Cottage or Heathfield House, a larger party could be accommodated.

“Fantastic break away”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2017

Had a great time. Cottage is excellent. Everything you need. Comfy beds. Beautiful surroundings. Rather cold in February but that was to be expected. We did get plenty sunshine and no rain. Met up with family from Invergordon. Had lovely walk round the loch. Loch was frozen so unable to fish but will definitely go back. So nice to have milk, tea and shortbread waiting on us. Thanks for lovely stay.

Response from the manager Thank you for your lovely review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you back in the future, hopefully it will be a little warmer and you will be able to do some fishing.
