“Great cottage in the centre of the village”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2015

We enjoyed a great week in ingleton. The accommodation was great and the cottage was presented to clean and high standard. The bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival was appreciated (2 young children made short work of the chocolates). The cottage is spacious and the enclosed rear garden was useful as we had our dog with us. The rooms are a good size and the TV in the top double room was good as was the wifi which was fast enough to watch Netflix and get a few bits of wok done. This was our second stay in the Dales and Ingleton is a perfect base for walking with plenty right on the doorstep. We visited Hawes where the kids love the Wensleydale cheese factory. Visit the old post office restaurant 30 seconds away for great food and wine. Also we played pool several nights in the cosy Wheatsheaf pub 100 yards away. Highly recommended.

thank you for you review . really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Bank house . there are lots of lovely places to eat in the village .the new taps bar is also very good . we are coming up to winter now ,the village is lovely in winter lots of log fires in the pubs ,real ale , lovely walks in the crisp clear air then return home t cosy Bank house and relax ........bliss

“Lovely return visit to Bank House”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2015

Bank house never disappoints, this is our second visit. It is clean, well equipped and well situated. We particularly enjoyed going on the walks literally from our doorstep. ps3 was great for Netflix. Walking books and maps are provided which are really useful. Kitchen very well equipped if you want to cook but there lots of lovely places to eat in the village. The house has a central village location. We will be back to this little gem of a holiday cottage.

“A very pretty and convenient village for exploring the Yorkshire Dales”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2015

The house is very convenient: a minute from the butcher's and the Co-op. Very handy when you have forgotten something. It has a very pretty south-facing garden, which was bliss for a party with three smokers; although with the rain and wind at times, it would have been nice to have had a sturdier parasol outside (we tried to fill the base with water, but it leaked). The kitchen was perfectly functional - a tiny bit lacking in utensils, like a whisk and a couple more spatulas. We were a bit worried about only having a loo and bathroom upstairs, but it didn't matter a button: even with six there, we had no problems whatever. The wi-fi connection was fine, but needs an explanation in the book. The loveliest thing about this house is that it is in striking distance of the most beautiful walks and unspoilt countryside that you can imagine.

Hi William thank you for taking time to write a review . so glad you had a great stay . and so pleased to hear from your email you plan a return trip . a new whisk and spatulas are on there way to Bank house as we speak and a new larger sturdier parasol will be available from spring 2016 . look forward to seeing great guests like you again at BANK HOUSE .

“Excellent”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2015

We stayed at Bank house in November for a short weekend break and could not be happier with our choice of property and location. Bank House is just excellent! Warm cozy but feels spacious and has all the normal luxuries of your own house and more. When we arrived in Ingleton the directions to the house were very good and easy to find even in the dark! On entering the house we had a lovely welcome gift which was a nice touch and the house beautifully decorated, clean and warm. The house location could not be better in the village centre. You are yards from shops, pubs and beautiful walk locations such as a the Waterfall walk. I couldn't recommend this place enough and I for one will certainly be coming back.

Thank you for your review . Please come and stay again soon .

“A beautiful base in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

We chose Bank House because of its location close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and because it was pet-friendly so we could bring our dog with us. I'm not a camper so was looking for somewhere which was comfortable and homely, where we could relax if the weather wasn't fantastic. We needn't have worried on that score as the weather was pretty kind to us all week. Bank House is a 3-story, 3-bedroomed cottage set in the small town of Ingleton. Everything you could want is provided - ample kitchen equipment, plus cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The lounge/dining room is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The bathroom looks newly fitted and has both bath and shower. The two double bedrooms have tv and playstations and all three bedrooms have good quality beds with feather duvets and pillows and plenty of storage space. In addition, the owner has kindly provided books and toys for younger children and boardgames to while away the evenings. The garden is a definite sun-trap on a sunny afternoon and somewhere to sit and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Ingleton itself is a lovely little town with pretty much everything you could need in one place. There are 3 pubs to eat in (I recommend The Craven Heifer for hospitality and value for money), plus numerous tearooms and cafes and a fish and chip shop. There is a small supermarket and another shop called Bare Essentials selling food and household items. The town is ideally placed for walking, cycling, the Waterfall Trail, Ingleborough mountain and numerous other activities. All in all, this is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location. I'm so glad we found it and my only regret is that we stayed for one week instead of two.

Thank you for your lovely comments .We try very hard to make your stay enjoyable . please come and stay again soon .

“Fabulous family friendly traditional cottage”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2014

Lovely accommodation in my favourite Yorkshire dales village. The accommodation was immaculately presented with a thoughtful welcome pack on arrival. Cosy lounge with living flame fire was perfect for board games with the kids when they were not playing on the Playstation 3. We. Used the extensive selection of books and brochures to plan our walks and days out. We will visit again in the summer and stay a week as there there is so much to do in the dales. The traditional wheatsheaf pub 50 yards up road is recommended for great evening meal. Thank you for a great stay.

Thank you for your lovely comments - look forward to seeing you again at Bank House

“Absolutely wonderful stay”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2013

Fabulous house in centre of village really comfortable, well equipped and dog friendly. Our teenage son especially enjoyed the PS3, wonderful power shower after a day walking in the sunshine and our dog loved the enclosed sunny garden with visits from the resident peacock. Cafe on doorstep served amazing breakfasts, Wheatsheaf pub just up the road served excellent beer, cider and food and is also dog friendly. Waterfall walk and Ingleborough on the doorstep. Perfect location for Yorkshire three peaks.

Thank you for your lovely comments .look forward to seeing you all again at Bank House.

“A lovely weekend in the Yorkshire Dales”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2013

A fantastic weekend away in Bank House, all you need for a comfortable, cosy stay close by to some amazing views, scenery and drives out. The property is very well kept and clean, spacious inside, modern bathroom with powerful shower. Lovely, peaceful outside area to sit in and have breakfast if the weather is nice. Lots of nearby towns and villages and attractions to explore. We would recommend the waterfall walk £6 for adults, take your camera. The Marton Arms has delicious meals on offer, a scenic stroll down country lanes would take you 20 minutes to get there. We liked the homemade, fresh rolls and cakes from the bakery round the corner, next to the school. Thank you for the wine on arrival, a lovely touch.
