Very Good

“Hobby cottage”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2017

Lovely cottage. No toilet upstairs tho. Was a pain paying a visit during the night. Was very put out when the owner knocked and just walked in Saturday morning and made a poxy excuse he needed to check a bulb !!!!! Obviously could have come Monday morning when we had gone !!! Never experienced that before staying in many other cottages. !!!! Very unfriendly and felt he wanted to check us out. We left immediately. Very embarrassing as I had my nightwear on !!! Would never stay again. Very inappropriate!!!

Owner's reply: Unsure if you have the correct property, as my recollection of my visit to the cottage and your early departure are completely different. I did knock on the door around 11.30am to ask permission to go into Hobby to look for an item for the cottage next door which we were cleaning and your partner very kindly let me in. We chatted amiably during which he said that you were leaving shortly (2 days early) as the weather had been so miserable. As we were were talking you appeared from upstairs carrying your dog which had been barking and joined in the conversation saying how the dog did not like walking in the rain. We parted, I thought, on fine and friendly terms. Interesting to note that whilst Hobby is a dog friendly holiday home, dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms and most guests usually book and pay the nominal fee for their pet. An omission/oversight on your part?

“Very comfortable cottage”

Ideally situated in the heart of the village of Ingleton, Hobby cottage is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. A pleasant outdoor area to sit and enjoy the sun.The village is well served with some interesting shops and pubs serving good food. Great local walks with our dog and lots of places of interest to visit nearby. Would definately recommend and would also revisit on a another trip.

“Beautiful cottage and the perfect location”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2014

Hobby Cottage was beautifully clean and well presented in the perfect location in Ingleton within 10 minutes of the lovely waterfalls walk and the perfect starting point for lots of other walks in the area. It is within 2 minutes walk of the shops in the village which was ideal when popping out for milk although for our main shop for the week we had a delivery from Tesco which added to the ease of the holiday. All the communication with the owner was great. The whirlpool bath was a really nice addition and helped ease tired muscles after a hard days walking. WiFi would have been a nice addition but it wasn't an issue as we brought a 3 dongle with us which worked perfectly. We will definitely return at some point in the future.Thank you for a lovely week.

“Home from Home”

We have stayed in both Hobby and Merlin cottages several times. Both cottages are always clean and have everything you need in a holiday cottage. They are in an excellent location in the centre of Ingleton and although there is no off road parking, the owners of the Wheatsheaf were happy for us to use their car park as we ate there most days. The only downside is the lack of wifi/internet access but don't let this stop you booking these excellent cottages. We will certainly be back again soon

“A lovely cottage in convenient location”

Super place with all we needed. Beautifully clean and neat. The pub next door agreed to allow those acccompanying us to park as we used the poub for food on 2 occasions. Perfect spot to start the waterfalls walk which was spectacular to say the least and well worth the entrance fee. Some good shops...butcher supplied my husband with every imaginable variety of pork pie. Would highly recoment the facility to anyone.

“Excellent accommodation in the heart of Ingleton”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2014

We have previously stayed as a family in the larger property Jem and Hayley have in Ingelton so we knew the style and quality of their houses. Hobby cottage was a lovely location right in the centre of the village. Accommodation was again of a very high standard and the house was cosy and well appointed. Would definitely stay again. Thank you

“Fantastic accommodation, perfect location...”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Hobby Cottage, a modern and comfortable property which had everything we needed. The village of Ingleton was perfect with it's shops, cafes , outdoor pool, kids play area, fish and chip shop. The tourist information centre was also very useful. The is very scenic and not too far from places like the Lakes, Settle, Lancashire coast so plenty to do. We particularly enjoyed the 'White Scar Caves' which are about 1 mile away and also a trip to the Lake district. We also had a fantastic afternoon in the outdoor pool. As a keen runner I found some scenic (hilly) routes to run on which made them very enjoyable. All in all a brilliant holiday in a brilliant location to which we will definitely return next year.

“Everything you want and need for a good holiday.”
