Location description from owner

The Devon region

North Devon, rich in spectacular coastline, is as diverse as it is beautiful. Beautiful farmland with chocolate box villages hidden amidst rolling hills and narrow lanes, here is some of the most unspoilt countryside in the UK. The invigorating coastline, boasting award-winning beaches offers a variety of activities: whether creating a sandcastle masterpiece; flying kites along the scenic coastline; venturing into the Atlantic waves to surf, dive, kayak or swim; the North Devon coastline has something for everyone, whatever the time of year.

Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is the perfect setting for a family holiday by the sea with plenty to do in the town and surrounding area. The town has a good selection of restaurants and cafes including the brand new 11 The Quay owned by the artist Damien Hirst where you can view some of his art.

Visit the truly unique, historical Tunnels Beaches, where four tunnels through the cliff provide access to the coastline, coves and two small beaches. A rock pooling haven, there is a large tidal swimming pool perfect for children, a beach shop, café/bar and play hut. Tunnels Beaches is also a very popular wedding venue and just a 10 minute walk from the property.

A haven for walkers with the SW coastal footpath running close by to the property, explore the dramatic coastline by foot or take a trip across to the peaceful unspoiled haven of Lundy Island.

For those with young children The Big Sheep and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park are both within a twenty minute drive.

For golfers try the Ilfracombe Golf Club that welcomes non members and has outstanding sea views from almost every tee.
